I started ‘Black Sails’ last night and yelped with glee when I saw this…has to be a deliberate nod from DJ and crew, no?

Ugh, every time I open this image somewhere new the colours change and look terrible. And his fingers are hovering, but maybe he's tapping 'em... Anyway, here’s my Friday night art endeavour - doodling some Barbossabeth like it’s 2007. Because why not?

This ship has probably gone out of fashion since the “Dead Men Tell No Tales” storyline - but if ye fancy, we can just sail on down another leg of the trousers of time and go “hey, but what if this had happened instead…?” Even if you don’t ship these guys, they make a damn good team: Elizabeth learns so much from Hector in the first and third film; they’re particularly cute in “At World’s End”. (I mean they try to kill each other in “Curse of the Black Pearl”, but that’s pretty standard for the start of PotC relationships…)

Thicker Than Water (3/3)

The abyss of her dreams was far deeper and darker than Keta remembered. Her limbs, her body had disintegrated, she didn’t quite exist down here, held together by stitches of song in a long, never ending thread.

Even the fear was muted here, suffocated by the intense darkness surrounding her.

Or, Keta's run-in with a siren is progressing not quite as expected, but with Damerina to her rescue, Tia may not be entirely pleased.

Thicker Than Water (2/3)

Tia had now had at least two opportunities to kill Keta while she was helpless. Instead Keta always awoke, having been wrapped up warm and safe in blankets, her clothes drying out. They’d rescued her from the ocean, from certain death in that storm.

They weren’t trying to kill her - they were trying to keep her alive . But why?

Or, Keta's run in with a siren goes better than expected, while Marina's hopes are restored and Dame reminisces about her past.

Thicker Than Water (1/3)

Keta’s limbs felt like they'd been removed and filled with cement in her slumber. Groaning, she gradually rose from the deep sleep she'd found, her first on the sea. But the ground beneath her was hard and cold, wet and slimy, and the sounds of the sea rushing against the rocks and birds calling overhead gradually swelled into her senses.

She wasn't on her ship any more.

Or, Keta’s entanglement with a siren proves not as bad as she thought. Still, Dame and Marina decide to come to her rescue.
