Hi! I've finished The Rifter and liked it a lot! I stumbled upon your review and saw that you liked the Captive Prince too like me. I was wondering if you plz could rec good books with gay theme? Also fantasy or not. Sorry if it was asked and thx!
hey hey ♥ I’m so happy to hear that you liked The Rifter, it deserves more recognition!
as for recs. definitely check out Ginn Hale’s other works, Champion of the Scarlet Wolf is especially birlliant (you’ll probably have to read Lord of the White Hell before that, which was... kinda annoying at times, but give it a shot! Kiram is a babe, do it for him).
then check out KJ Charles - she. is. a genius. Her series A Charm of Magpies has elements of fantasy, Society of Gentlemen series is simply brilliant (not fantasy, but gays in Victorian London, one does not need more in one’s life)
The Song of Achilles, of course, aka the Classic™
if you appreciated Captive Prince, Mary Renault’s Alexander The Great trilogy was a great inspiration for C. S. Pacat
some YA: Willful Machines, More Happy Than Not, Radio Silence, I’ll Give You the Sun
if you want some nice contemporary fiction, with diverse characters, Santino Hassell is your guy (he’s especially great when teamed up with Megan Erickson, who tempers his need to be too Extra™ all the freaking time. so the Cyberlove series is very close to my heart)
some absolutely great reads with side queer characters: Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt (one of my favourite books), Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness (brilliant)
then you could always just browse my book recs tag, there’s mostly queer lit there :)
