which do you prefer: reading smut or writing it?
ummm. depends. writing is fun but writing smut comes w the usual writing related obstacles and i cant divest the smut i write from the fic as a whole. reading smut is definitely a less stressful experience and there’s the element of surprise ofc but it’s also pretty satisfying to have written some adequate smut
what’s a smut turnoff for you? like when you’re reading it, it immediately brings you out of the smut zone?
that thing where character A makes a (sexual) move on character B and character B first doesnt want it/struggles/says no/resists but then character A tries again/pushes harder and character B gives in/does enjoy it -- but the only reason we know they want it is bc we can see the internal monologue of the character, not bc the characters communicated. when i read something like that im immediately like......but.........you didnt communicate............. i cant read scenes like that without wondering if the author realizes theyve essentially just written dubious consent and feeling a little bit worried for any reader who doesnt see that, so in that sense it definitely brings me out of the smut zone
