I love the friendships in the owl house so much

I especially love the purveying message the owl house has of like--- not everyone is gonna get you, but someday you'll find people who do, and you'll form powerful bonds that will change your life for the absolute better

Everyone in the owl house grew up with little to no friends and over the course of their lives made friends so close they're family

It's extremely realistic to not just growing up, but growing up weird

Stay weird kids, you'll find your brood someday

bruh on god I want their story to end with them married, Hunter learning how to carve palisman from Dell to keep the craft alive, and Willow using her powers to help grow more trees, and they run a florist/palisman business, and live in a little cottage, and basically just have a very wholesome cottagecore happy life together IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!

Emperor’s Coven design drabble

so apparently segmented thigh armor is a sort of late 1500′s early 1600′s thing (so something a young Philip would have definitely seen), and I’m not sure if this is a happy accident or fully intentional.

Part of me wants to think it’s an intentional design choice given all the things that can be read in the design of the rest of the Emperor’s Coven uniforms

the main two things to note here are

1) the plague doctor theme running through basically every rank but the very top

2) the distinct lack of armor of any kind (other than that one guy who is mostly a- high ranking and b- dangerous enough to necessitate armor)

I will say the lack of general armor through out the coven can be explained a lot by magic (most of the attacks coming at you would be magical, and since your best defensive moves are also magical, heavy armor that may restrict movement probably isn’t ideal) but I would like to think there is also a layer of story telling going on here in that Belos doesn’t see his underlings as worth spending the time and effort protecting. They generally don’t have armor cause he over-all doesn’t actually care if they get hurt. (hence why the Golden Guard always is seen in the most armor in the whole coven-- he’s not only the emperor’s loyal knight, always by his side, but that’s also my emotional support grimwalker brother replacement, and it would be a shame if something were to happen to him (other than me. ...again.))

but so the plague doctor stuff-- I think it’s a good clue into how the emperor thinks of his coven; they’re his force to “cure the plague that is wild magic”-- that he actually thinks of as a plague himself. He basically sees the whole boiling isles as one big plague.

Also real quick looping back to the Golden Guard armor and it’s time period influence-- Philip would’ve seen this kind of armor (probably not in person he looked p rural in those pictures) when he was a little kid, and massive part of his whole character is how he’s actually still pretty childish at his core. (see that whole “witch hunter general” correction in King’s tide and him being paired with the Collector who is also massively powerful and stuck in a childish state)

Back at it again, waiting to fly the big skies

More flapjack's big day! Some video games at the hotel, made a friend in the ride over and now we're starting the night with a refreshing drink

Steve and Matt catching up and Matt telling him he started the illusion track and Steve is all excited and proud for his little bro and Matt's just like

"Uh, yeah I'm pretty excited about it... kind of got inspired by a good friend..." and the way he's bashfully blushing when he talks about Gus Steve is just like

*drops low to look at Matt in the eye, smug grin, L shaped fingers on his chin* "a good friend, hmm????"

"S-shut up! it's not like that!"

"*leans closer to Matt* HMMMM???"

"IT'S NOT! TITAN YOU ARE SUCH A DORK!!"

And they continue like that for about 15 minutes before Matt is like

"FINE OKAY I LIKE HIM ALRIGHT?! I like Agustus! But... look man I don't think he'd like me back. So just-- forget it okay?"

And the dejected look on Matt's face flips Steve's supportive brother switch and he's like

"Hey, you don't know that. Don't count yourself out before you even started, bro. Why not tell him how you feel? What's the worst that could happen?"

"I GET SO EMBARRASSED THAT I DIE."

"You're not gonna die, Matt. Look-- why do I help you?"

Cut to later, Steve is in a Bush giving his brother the thumbs up while Matt stands there with a bunch of flowers waiting for Gus

"...this is so freakin stupid..."

When Gus does show up Matt freaks and throws the flowers all while squeaking like a dork

I've been rewatching the owl house leading up to the new episode and I had a thought

Hunter: "nothing is worse that disappointing someone who thinks your special"

Also Hunter last ep: *was charged by Darius to guard and protect Luz, the best friend of all his new friends and who he just watched take his place in getting kidnapped*

He's not gonna be okay next episode and frankly neither am I 🙃
