My fav thing about Arthur x eames fic is that early 2010s trend of a single enticing sentence as summary but otherwise tells us nothing about whats to come…but it’s good. It’s always so good.

“stanley, my manley,” richie says one night as they lay on the front of his car, looking up at the stars. “if we could, and if we weren’t in high school, i would marry you tomorrow.”

stan laughs. “you couldn’t afford the ring.” richie doesn’t laugh, though. “rich?”

“stan.” richie rolls onto his side to face him. “i love you, you know? so much.”

“i love you, too,” stan answers after a moment.

richie smiles. “i can’t wait until we leave this hell-town together.”

“when we do,” stan says, smiling too, “i’m never coming back.”

“neither am i.”
