Hidden Pride - Brutal Advice (1997)
You ever get stuck in a very long work because you can’t make your brain zoom the fuck out and gloss over anything and you’re somehow stuck describing every tedious micro-expression? It’s great fun.
My next book is finally getting closer to completion after my family dealt with some absolutely horrible things (things I would not wish on my worst enemy) from November 2020 to January 2024. I honestly couldn’t even bring myself to even allude to it before now, though the situation has been laid to rest for over a year.
The book is obscenely overdue, and I’m not sure anyone on here is even waiting for it. Please just know that that is what held up the sequel if you are one of the folks that is waiting for an update! 🫣
Skies are a lot sunnier these past few months, and writing is finally coming along ✍🏻 ❤️
Here's my alt account I'm still on hiatus on my Main but here ya go some Dr teeth Angst for Pride Month 💜💜💜
hey! I've seen the hate anon going around, I'm so sorry about that :( /gen and also could I get a "soft Moon" (FNAF) lock screen with the starrylavenfielden flag's palette? (Without the actual flag though please) just got myself a new phone and wanted to put one of my favorite robot critters on it!
♡ Here it is!
almost so busted
boba insisted she was only getting on the table to make sure i noticed that our paperwhite was blooming. sometimes a little plausible deniability goes a long way
Hi! I just wanted to say that I bought your book a few days ago and I really loved it! I bet it was really difficult to decide which characteristics of Steve/Danny could stay and what had to be changed. As I hadn't gotten into McDanno when the original fanfiction was on AO3, I wasn't able to read it. When I was reading A Burning Sky, I thought the references to the preceding story were very intriguing - full of juicy angst and hurt/comfort! So, suffice to say, I'm extremely excited to read A Hidden Pride. Do you have a rough idea of when it might be published? I hope the writing is going smoothly for you. I'm sending you inspiration and my appreciation for a very enjoyable read!
Thank you so much for the lovely, kind words, Anon! I am so humbled that you would take the time to find my tumblr and reach out to me about this 🥰🥰🥰
I can say that the book’s release date unfortunately hinges on me passing the bar, and that the pandemic threw a major wrench in my bar exam plans.
I have taken it a second time, but I was extremely ill the second time I took it; consequently, I don’t have high hopes of passing. Also, because everything is online now, and there are new bizarre rules invented by boomers to “inhibit cheating” (like no mouse, no desktop computer, no clocks??? Wtf?), the testing experience my law school spent three years preparing and coaching me for is nothing like the current testing environment 😅. Add in severe ADHD, a repressed immune system, and ongoing mental health mindfulness, and it has been a tricky road. That being said, I got awards in school for having the highest grades in a class, and I took the test blind without studying (for practice and anxiety purposes) the first time and ALMOST passed 🤷🏻♀️ so the odds of me passing soon are good.
The good news: my writing studio is done, and hanging out in there is just lovely.
Sooo, I have the month of October basically free (besides work), because I won’t get bar results until November (omfggggGASDFDBDJXNCBCNX). That means MORE WRITING TIME :D
Long story short, if I can pull a @Cowandcalf or a @Murphyhatesme and really crank out some work with my muse, A Hidden Pride might be out a lot sooner than you would expect. . . I will have to give updates later this fall on the progress.
I will say that over 100,000 words are in my computer dedicated to this project, and it’s just a matter of moving things around for the ever-changing plot. It’s a labor of love.
Thank you for your patience, and thank you again for the kind words. ❤️
No Pride in the workplace?
Guess again.
