It's a dream come true for 90-year-old chef Paul Bocuse, the founder of the prestigious biannual event that chefs around the world spend more than a year training to compete in. Though he is from Lyon, France, #Bocuse has a special affinity for Americans. Fighting the Nazis during World War II, he'd been shot in the chest and given a transfusion of American blood that saved his life. As a gesture of appreciation, Bocuse flies an American flag outside his flagship restaurant. Because U.S. #chefs have long struggled for funding and resources to prepare for the competition, Bocuse called on @DanielBoulud and @ChefThomasKeller to run the American team—and now their efforts have paid off.
