Today's hike....Mirror Lake. First time it's been a true lake in 35 years due to the heavy winter season.

Yosemite Valley Loop Trail Pt 5: Crossing the Valley, flooded meadow, Merced River overflow

Crossing the Yosemite Valley outside of the Lodge the trail goes underwater from the Merced River overflowing and all the runoff from Yosemite Falls.

So to avoid having to backtrack several miles, shoes came off and through we went. It was about 9 inches at deepest, but I wasn't about to use camera at that point!

Yosemite Valley Loop Trail Pt 3: Rock Grotto and Yosemite Falls approach

Heading west on the Loop Trail from the Ahwahnee sends you thru a great rock first with some aggressive bluejays and then past Yosemite Village you reach the opening expanses of Upper Yosemite Fall
