Unless you are going to a place you are so familiar with, never forget to carry a map and a compass. With technology around, we always have GPS on our phone and even in our cars, but unfortunately, the network signal is not clear in remote camping spots. Compass and maps are more reliable in this place than GPS.
Alternative weather gear
In some places, weather changes rapidly. Even when you have checked the weather forecast for weeks, you might get stuck in the rain or it becomes too sunny. With an extra set of clothes, you will be a piece in case the weather changes.
