but like imagine hiro with an s/o who loves to collect random stuff or like picks up rocks and gives them to hiro and is like “here this rock reminded me of you” ODMSJSHHA
i absolutely adore this ask! it might just be because i do the same thing but i’m really excited to write it. I’m so so so sorry for the delay, i had surgery in july and have been recovering since then, plus the Anniversary was last month. (yes that's a long time but please cut me some slack I have been doing my best) anyways i hope you like it! because its been so long since i started it, i wrote it a little differently than usual. it's like a little collection of moments.
also! not only do I now have an ao3, but i also have a taglist! both are linked in my navigation.

Warnings: Big Hero Six: The Series lore thrown in (Bessie is a meteorite bear, yes it is as weird as it sounds). We are going to pretend I payed for my own matcha ice cream and know how much it was. San Fransokyo cable cars are officially Not That Expensive because I said so. i apparently really like the word intertwine
"I'm back!" You exclaim, sitting down on Hiro's bed to look at him. He was still in the same position as when you had left, staring blankly at his computer screen, he had been trying to fix something on Baymax's suit and you could tell by his slumped posture he hadn't succeeded yet. He brightens up at your voice, and rolls his chair around to face you.
"How was your adventure into the woods?" He asks, pressing the save button on his document.
"Your phrasing makes it sound like there was a seventy percent chance that I would have dropped dead as soon as I heard a bird that isn't a pigeon."
"There's moose, mosquitos, and Bessie in those woods Y/N. I'd say eighty."
"Bessie likes me Hiro. Because I appreciate nature while you would rather wither away staring at a screen."
"Bessie doesn't like anyone. She's a bear."
"A bear that likes me." You retort, laughing at his expression. "Oh! I got you something!" You rummage in your bag and pull out a rock. "Its shaped like Mochi!"
"So a round rock." Hiro says and you gasp, cupping your hands around Mochi's ears, who had taken up residence on your lap almost as soon as you had sat down on the bed.
"Don't listen to him Mochi you are perfectly cat shaped." You coo at the cat who meows smugly in response.
Hiro takes the rock from where it lay on the bed, you had abandoned it in favor of the real Mochi, turning it over in his hands. You're right, he admits to himself, it does look uncannily like Mochi, even having discoloration where he has his patches. He moves his gaze to you and smiles, setting rock Mochi down on his desk.
"You know that ice cream place you've been wanting to go to? The one with matcha ice cream?"
You lift your head from your fussing over Mochi at his voice and smile back at him. "Yeah?"
He responds by standing up and pulling a ten dollar bill out of his pant pocket, then intertwining your fingers and pulling you up off the bed.

"Hi." You say intertwining your arms around Hiro's shoulders. He's sitting in his chair playing video games with Fred, and you're leaning against the back of the chair.
"Hi." He replies, as you rest your head where his neck meets his shoulder. You stay like that for a bit until his character dies and he disconnects the call, much to Freds chagrin if the whining from Hiro's speakers is anything to go by. He then spins his chair around so you are face to face.
"Hi." He repeats watching as your face brightens in remembrance.
"Oh! I have something for you." You pull a dark feather out of your pocket, smoothing it out before handing it to him. "It reminded me of you."
"A feather reminded you of me?" He says as he turns over in his hands.
"Yeah! It's the exact color of your hair."
"I don't think my hair is this pretty in the light though." He's twisting the feather through a sun beam, watching as the hidden iridescent colors are showcased. He turns suddenly, and places it with the Mochi rock, a patterned paper crane, and a few other items.
He turns back to you and opens his arms, you accept the offer for a hug almost immediately, resting your head back on where his neck meets his shoulder.

Your hands rake through the smooth quartz, and you turn a couple over in your hand before moving on to a different plastic box of crystals. You stop when you've chosen one and risk a glance over at Hiro. He is looking at the things you had handed him, the things that you picked out for yourself, this particular crystal is for him though, and you have to somehow pay for it without him noticing. Curling your hand into a fist to hide it, you tug on Hiro's jacket.
"I've found everything I need." You say smiling at him, he nods and leads the way to the cashier, placing your things on the counter, and reaching for his wallet.
"You paid for the food, I can pay for my things." He pauses.
"You sure?"
"Yeah." You wait until he's looking at what they have set up next to the counter to add the crystal to your other things, making eye contact with the cashier and then flicking your eyes over to your boyfriend. She seems to have caught your message, and wraps the crystal in tissue paper, along with a couple of the more delicate items.
"Would you like a bag?" She asks
"Yes please." You take the bag from her and intertwine your fingers with Hiro's, leading the both of you out of the shop and onto the streets of San Fransokyo.
"Where should we go next?" He asks you, bringing you closer to him by tugging on your hand, then lifting your joined hands and pressing a kiss to the back of yours.
"Hm." Your eyes scan the street you and Hiro are on, and your eyes light up at a banner that showcases the aquariums deep sea exhibit. You gasp, and turn to look at Hiro.
"You want to go the the aquarium?" He asks before you can say anything, and you nod enthusiastically. Luckily there's a cable car stop just up ahead, and you both sit on the bench as you wait. Hiro takes a drink of his water and you dig around in your bag to find his gift.
"I have something for you." You say. Hiro finishes zipping up his backpack and turns to look at you. You hand him the wrapped crystal and he unwraps it, turning the smooth rock over in his palm, and reading the little card that came with it.
"Did you get this at the shop we were just at?" He asks, a slight laugh to his tone.
"Yes." You grin at him and more of a laugh makes its way into his voice.
"I love it." He slips it into one of his backpack pockets and intertwines your fingers once more, resting his head on yours.

A/N: It's a little shorter than I usually prefer to write, but since they're so young I wanted to keep it completely innocent and physical affection down to a minimum. I also apologize for taking so long. Life's a little hectic at the moment 😅
gosh these two are so frickin cute
it's that perfect tsundere softy pairing and it sends me to the moon
plus the friends since they were kids trope
speaking of which
can you imagine them meeting as little kids
and hiro's like annoyed bc he's always annoyed he's being forced to play with this quiet girl
but he complies like a good boy and plays with her (begrudgingly)
and he notices somewhere along the line he stopped being so annoyed by her
and that he kinda actually likes spending time with her
and that she's kinda his best friend not that he'd admit to it
seriously i'm obsessed with the friends to crushes aspect
and imagine she's chilly one day
and he notices and copies what he's seen hatsuharu do a million times and gives her his jacket
when she thanks him with that cute smile, he blushes and turns away, quietly muttering that it's no big deal
i also believe that he's constantly copying what he sees hatsuharu and yuki do and i think it's hilarious
he's so awkward about it all but also so determined
i feel like he shares his food with her
like snacks and stuff
just kinda offers it silently, not even looking at her
she happily accepts and munches with that one smile on her face
yk that small one that's like just pure, genuine happiness
i really believe she knows it's the little things matter the most so she's always aware of the affection behind his actions
they totally share an umbrella if one of them forgets
it's just like a silent holding their umbrella over the other and the two of them continuing to walk
i also fully believe they understand each other well enough to be able to not always have to say what's on their mind
silence isn't uncomfortable either
i mean, he's a little awkward but that's just because he i s an awkward boy
she definitely slept on his shoulder at one point
usually she sleeps on haru's arm, but once she was more tired than she realized and dozed off, eventually slumping over onto hiro's shoulder
it surprised him, but he just adjusted to make sure she was comfortable
they're just relaxed with each other like that
he puts band-aids on her cuts and scrapes for her
he also picks out the pretty ones because he knew she'd like them but anyway
he definitely is always paying attention to her expressions and posture
he may not always know what to do, but he always wants to know how she feels in case he c a n help
God PLEASE J can I have some hiro hc content?? I don’t really mind what it is just make it fluffy?? If u want a prompt tho I can try come up w one
absolutely u can. I’m gonna give u some Hiro cuddling headcanons bc I have another cuddle request so it’s on the brain

Cuddling w/ Hiro Headcanons -
He is 100% down to cuddle literally wherever or whenever.
Doesn’t matter if you’re his friend or his partner if you ask for a hug you’re getting a hug.
Dude is just really easy going, all you have to do is ask.
He loves it when you sit on his lap so he can rest his head on your shoulder.
If the two of you are a couple he’ll probably kiss your temple or the top of your head every now and then.
Usually cuddling with him is a pretty casual thing, like if you’re watching a movie or something he’ll just pull you close.
Or one of you will just hold your arms open till the other one gets the message and pulls them into a hug.
But also!!! It’s one of the best ways to calm him down.
Like, whether it be in the killing game, or just a stressful situation in general, Hiro can get pretty worked up when sudden reality hits.
It might not fix everything, but having someone there to hold him and get him out of his own head until he calms down really helps.
He’s very thankful if you’re there for him during those moments, instead of being put off or even laughing because of the mood change like other people might be.
In times like that having the two of you wrapped up with each other just makes him feel a lot safer.
Also! Expect lots of cuddle naps.
Once the two of you get comfortable neither one of you wants to move for awhile, so it’s incredibly common for you both to fall asleep like that.
Overall 10/10 cuddler just wants to relax with you and feel comforted, I see cozy movie nights in y’all’s future.
Imagine Hiro having the biggest crush on you, so he gives his best to find a good idea to tell you how he feels. Unfortunately, that genius head of his didn’t quite work the way he wanted it to.
Imagine being close friends with the Hamada brothers and a police officer at the same time. Whenever you hear of bot fights during your shift you assume they are in trouble. Even if you are mad at the brothers, they can always count on you.

Summary: Being mute isn’t all that bad, when you’ve got a boyfriend like Hiro Hamada. He’s always trying to help you out, whether it’s research for a school paper or talking to other people (who don’t have a clue on how to speak sign language). So you return the help, supporting him with his MicroBot project. But after he’s lost Tadashi, and almost you, he’s set on keeping you safe, even if it means never letting you out of his sight. Still, you can’t help but feel a powerful need to help him find the man who started the SFIT fire, and who killed Tadashi.

People wandered around the showcase, viewing all of the machines and contraptions, while you and the group congratulated Hiro. He had a shy smile on his face, his cheeks a hint of pink. You could hardly hear what he was mumbling over Honey Lemon and Fred being so loud.
"Alright!" said Aunt Cass, "Dinner's on me!"
"Yes!" Fred fist-bumped the air. "Nothing's better than free food! Unless it's moldy..."
Hiro held your hand as everyone headed out the door. The cool air gently hit you in the face, cooling down your flushed face. The stars calmly lit the night sky as people exited the building. SFIT balloons were floating weightlessly in the sky, guided by a small breeze. Cass and the others were merrily talking among themselves, heading towards their vehicles.
"Hey, Aunt Cass," said Tadashi, "Hiro and I are going to hang out for a bit. We'll catch up with you later."
Cass sighed. "Ok..." she ran to Hiro and engulfed him in a hug. "I love you!! I love you both!" she exclaimed, before walking away.
You looked at Hiro. I'll go join the others, you signed. Hiro gave you a confused look, not able to catch every motion of your hands. You mouthed the words to him.
"Ok," he smiled and kissed you on the forehead, holding his warm lips there for a few seconds. "Thanks for everything."
You signed a quick No problem, and began to walk away, before he called you back.
"Hey, could you actually do me a favor?" he asked shyly. "Could you get Wasabi and the others to help pack up my microbots? I'll help in a second, I just need some time with Tadashi."
You nodded, turning sharply on your heels to find everyone. A silky warmth was still radiating through your head where Hiro had kissed it. You rubbed it softly and closed your eyes, cherishing every detail of that moment. Who knew? It might be the last time you would ever feel his lips on your skin.
You wandered around for a while, searching for any of your friends, mostly Cass; none of them were in sight, and of course you couldn't call out to them, so all you had to rely on was your sight. You went back into the convention building, walking through the many displays and technology, still not finding any of them. You were frustrated. It's as if they all ran away when Hiro mentioned the word 'favor'.
Pulling your phone out of your pocket, you were about to text Honey Lemon when you hatched an idea. They're microbots, right? So you would be able to pack them away yourself, using the neurotransmitter to guide them back into the recycling bins. Of course, you weren't sure what you had to do in your brain to complete the action of moving them, but it sounded like a fun experiment to try.
You walked around the devices, mentally judging them as you passed them. One of them, a contraption that did nothing more than clap a set of bionic hands, seemed completely useless. However, one that looked like an underwater elliptical, seemed useful, in case you started sweating too much in a workout; the thought of being completely doused in cold water made you smile: you marked that off on your list of things to do before going to bed.
Arriving at the stage, you found it completely rid of microbots, and the lights were off. You saw the recycling bins, but when you peered inside them, they were empty. Further inspection showed that the neurotransmitter was also missing.
Fear rose into your chest. Of course it wasn't your fault that everything was missing, but still, you could only imagine the anger that Hiro would feel when he saw that his microbots were missing. You looked under the skirt of the stage, searching for anything that resembled a microbot or a headband-looking-thing.
Nothing. Everything was gone.
You began to sweat from the anxiety. You pulled out your cell and sent a text to Hiro, telling him to help you find everything. Your fingers shook, and you had to try three times to press the send button. You tucked it back into your pocket, wiping the sweat from your forehead. Why am I so nervous? you thought. It's not like you've never lost anything before now.
Suddenly, you heard clicking near the back of the building. It was getting louder. And louder. And it was simply annoying the heck out of you. Instinctively, your feet dragged you along to the sound, while you cringed at the annoying noise. It reminded you of your cousin, when she would pick the ends of her fingernails off, instead of just filing them or using a set of nail clippers.
The noise grew as you silently followed it, taking you to a side of the building that was rid of displays. You saw a path of microbots, laid out on the floor in a large square. Sweat continued to roll off your face as you reached out towards it, landing on the ground. You couldn't take it any more; the heat was unbearable. You were just about to head out, when the faint sound of screaming came from the north end of the building.
You pulled your attention away from the microbots, only finding a thick wave of flame about ten feet away from you. You froze instantly, watching the tongues lick their way across the ground, closer to you. Finally coming to your senses, you jumped back against the wall, looking for an exit nearby; you came up empty. Peoples' screams were getting louder, and the sounds of glass breaking and small explosions. Shards and debris flew at your face, successfully scratching your arms as you made a failing attempt to protect your eyes. You could live without a voice, but not without seeing your friends.
Hiro. Hiro.
You suddenly realized that your boyfriend had probably walked into the building after getting your text. You jumped up and charged the fire; seeing him, even if it was the last time, was the only think that suppressed your fear of heat.
You were just about to leap over the flames, when your feet entangled with something unfamiliar. You fell to the floor, just then noticing the tears streaming down your face. You couldn't turn your head enough to see what had gotten a hold of you because of the smoke choking you. There was only one more thing you could think of to do.
You put two fingers in your mouth and blew a shrill, high whistle. This was a technique you had learned in sign language class, and a relative or friend of the person had to memorize the tone and volume of the whistle in case of an emergency. You doubted that anyone could hear you over the sound of flames licking the walls and glass crashing, but it was the only thing left. You whistled several more times, before your head grew light. You were giving up. Searing heat ran across your shoulders, making you attempt a scream, but having nothing more than a cough come out.
"Where are you?!"
Recognition. You knew that voice. It hit you in the head like a bullet. Tadashi!
You whistled again, more momentum and spark in your veins than before. The grip on your ankles tightened, dragging you back against a bumpy, curved surface. You grimaced as your back slammed into it, engulfing your head and back against the uncomfortable wall. Nonetheless, you kept whistling, ignoring the pain in your jaw and the flame-like sensation in your throat. This couldn't be it. Tadashi was out there searching for you. He would find you. He would fi-
Pain. Force. Heat. You were thrown out of your grasp, flung against the wall of the building. Before you even hit it, it broke open, revealing the outside. Your head slammed into a dumpster, and you heard a sickening crack somewhere in your body. You remembered faint glimpses of orange... red liquid... something black and furry... you could hear your name shouted from far away, but you didn't register it as you. They're not calling for me... They've found me already... I'm over there, in the fire, right... I'm with Tadashi...
Didn't Tadashi come for me?
