Rewatching EP 13 of WHA and the fact that Sasaran deliberately calls out Agott for her lies, and says that the pointed caps are liars while implying brimhats aren't, is deeply ironic once you know about Sasaran. Sasaran saying he's liberated himself of flesh during the interaction when in fact he's lying clearly tells us deliberately within the story that it's not just the pointed caps who lie, but the brimhats themselves are also liars. It sets up that both sides are not to be trusted; that neither side is beyond using violence and hurting people to get their goals; it's a complex situation where both sides have valid criticisms of the other, but are also not without criticism.
