i've had this idea in mind for a while now, so i thought why not make a post about it? so basically, i think somebody should write a hmu musical adaption. personally i believe that lin manuel miranda will make an excellent soundtrack writer for it.
Since it’s apparently discourse hours in the fandom I think it’s time we talked about the writers confirming Emma Destielgate was raised Orthodox Jewish even though she doesn’t dress according to tzniut in the show. This kind of erasure of culture really hurts underrepresented identities!! I get that some people are raised in a particular way and leave their faith behind when they grow older and I’m happy for those people who get to see themselves onscreen in Emma but it’s exactly this kind of rhetoric that’s harmful to those who do still practice. I can count on one hand the number of Orthodox Jewish characters who aren’t a punchline and it would have been nice to be able to include Emma in that list, but I guess the writers didn’t want to have to actually put any thought or consideration into presenting Judaism in their show! Not that I’m surprised coming from the CW but it is disappointing. This is all my opinion do NOT send me hate mail over this post.
hey has anyone else in this fandom read the For trilogy because it is driving me to the brink
Issa: [throwing peanuts at club members] hey wren, catch!
Wren: i catch the peanuts in my mouth and spit them back at you with contempt. i will not bow to a god who treats me like a circus animal.
Emma: Since when is babysitting a bunch of teenage nerds my -
Emma: Oh no. That’s absolutely my job.
Issa: Babe, can you pass me the butter?
Audrey and Elena: *both reach for the butter*
Max, bursting through the door holding a stick of butter: You called?
Issa: You can't get enough of calling me names
Audrey: I can stop anytime I want, names
