To others who recieve their keychains early, I recommend replacing the ball chain with an actual keyring like I did. Ball chains are awful for actually keeping keychains on a bag.

Tip

If you’re like me and have like ‘phases’ of hobbies, but you want to keep doing one of them, then my advice is to make sure you do said thing at least once a week.

Personally, I don’t mind my phases most of the times, I fall in and out of love with drawing, and singing, and acting, and dancing, but since I have a following on Tumblr, I like to keep writing, so I always make sure I write at least once every seven days.

I’m kind of struggling right now to accept something. 

I have liked the idea of reborn dolls for years, specifically the alternative ‘monster babies’. I really love them, i’ve spent a lot of time researching how they’re made and what the possibilities are in painting/sculpting/hair and all that sort of thing. 

But I struggle to actually let myself enjoy it. I don’t have any proper reborns myself and I feel like i shouldn’t be allowed to view other people’s dolls because i’m technically not a ‘real part’ of the community. I have two baby dolls, one i painted to look like a Frankenstein baby, but right now i can only really paint cheaper dolls and not buy a professional one or a proper kit or anything. 

I might get a bit of hate for this but i wanted to know, do you feel like sometimes you’re not allowed to enjoy something because you cant fully commit to it? This isn’t something i’ve recently discovered, but i’ve never thought about it to this extent before. I feel like, because i don’t have the money or space to get into this hobby, i should feel guilty about wanting to be a part of it. I dont know why, but i’ve been trying to wrap my head around it for weeks and i was hoping to get some strangers opinions on it.

CASTLE, CASTLE, CASTLE!!

I’m at a point in my terrain collection where, after looking long and hard at what I’ve got, I’ve arrived at the realization that what I really need is a big honkin’ CASTLE to fight siege battles with. I’ve got trees, I’ve got ruins, I’ve got lone towers, I’ve got hills, but I don’t have a CASTLE.

How do I go about getting my mitts on a fortress suitable for all sorts of fantasy battles, from AOS to Middle-Earth? Should I build it myself? Should I comb eBay for that most elusive prize, the plastic Citadel Mighty Fortress? Should I go MDF or plastic or make my own out of Balsa-wood and love? How can I do this without losing my sanity or breaking my bank?

For real though, does anyone have any advice?

A little advice from someone who's been in the hobby for over ten years. Do NOT get a doll based on how popular it is, get a doll that fits your aesthetics. It doesn't matter it it's a Fairyland or a Mirodoll, as long as you're happy with what you purchased in the end that's all that matters. I've seen people practically sell their soul to get a really expensive doll just because it's what was "in" at the time, only to be horribly disappointment with the doll. Besides, popularity is over rated.

Help! Whats the best way to remove a sealant/spray paint/sealant combo on a large scale? I finally want to take the step and dye my doll but Im not sure how to remove the spray paint effectivly. I already tried cleaning him by hand the oldfashioned acetone way once but I gave up and sprayed him again after only doing the torso cause hes SD scale and it was very hard and time consuming. Is there a way to kinda put his parts in some solution, let it soak and then remove excess by hand? Pls help?

The hobby butterfly

Or: what shall I paint this week I've always been a serious hobby butterfly. At any given time I've got three or four projects started not counting whatever new shiny was released last week that I just had to have. It's getting to be a problem as I never seem to keep my focus on one goal long enough to finish painting anything. Currently my painting projects include: -working on an Imperial Navy/Adeptus Mechanicus force for armies on parade (I have a squad each of navy ratings, Skitarii, and storm troopers that need to be finished) -Finishing my Silver Tower models (nearly half the denizens and one more hero) -Finishing my Burning of Prospero box painted as Salamanders (basically all the models minus the characters and one test model) -Finishing the orc team and basing the human team from blood bowl -Finishing my Bloodbound army (a unit of bloodreavers, a few heroes, and three dragon ogres all need painting) Does anyone have suggestions on how to stay focused? Or even what I should work on this week?

Ugh everyone in this hobby has such thin skin. Not everyone is going to like your doll and if not who gives a fuck? It's your doll, why does anyone else's opinion matter. Grow the fuck up and stop being a baby just because someone is a bitch to you or leaves a nasty comment.
