To do ballet or not to do ballet
Here's a little run down on my dance history.
I started ballet when I was a wee lass, quit when I was a wee lass.
Never got back into dance until grade 6 for after school sport, which only lasted a term really.
Went back into dance for half a year in grade 9 and never went back.
In school though, it was just hip hop and funk which I was awful at because too many movements. Ugh.
After watching First Position and watching my good friend Marya (maryashouldbedoingsomethingelse) dance I thought "Man, I should've continued." so I've been mostly doing ballet-like movements at home and occasionally at uni. I'd like to start, it seems fun, and I don't want to go professional or anything, but I'm ridiculously inflexible. I can't even touch my toes! I'd love to blame it on my long legs but I don't even have long legs so I don't even have an excuse! Also, what will it cost? Every class, transportation, etc.
I've already had so much invested in my 'career' in piano which lasted for a decade and kind of just ended (and right before I got a diploma too, but I hate music theory). Also, those art classes I attended...I'd feel really bad if I had my mum pay even though she saw me one day dancing and she said "I can pay if you want to go into ballet again." which is really thoughtful and kind of her.
I don't know. Maybe I should watch some youtube videos first and do some basic steps?
