girlxgirl friendships, the strength of Bryce & Danika’s relationshi- to the point that even death couldn’t stop them

trauma, Bryce’s mental state and emotional reaction following what happened to Danika & the Pack, Hunt constantly having to kill for Micah

sex positivity, fuck ya taboo sex talks, I love how open these characters are

navigating romantic relationships, what I mean by this is how difficult it was for both Bryce & Hunt to move on after their respective partners. Trying to move past guilt for what they were feeling & having the strength to try for this new love

badass female characters, I mean this is just a given at this point. Bryce, Fury, Hypaxia (my fave), Danika, Lehabah, Juniper, need I say more

self-forgiveness, the emotional aspect to getting rid of the pain in Bryce’s leg. She took on everything that Ithan and Sabine said about her, and to an extent she believed it also. But she was able to turn this around, she could forgive herself for not replying to Connor’s text, for not being there for Danika.

Difficult family relationships, Bryce’s strenuous relationship with her brother for the majority of hoeab. Loving her brother, yet struggling to get on with him, her guilt for being starborn. Her extremely fucked relationship with the autumn king.

Strong family relationships, I loved to see the strength of her mother & step dad’s love and support and care for her. We haven’t had anything like this before with SJM and it was amazing to see. Also her brother’s constant care for her, even when she was certain she didn’t need it.

Male emotions and weakness, this could probably be phrased better, but I loved how we got to see how thoroughly broken and hurt Hunt was after he killed for Micah. Grappling with what he’s being forced to do, and showing that weakness to Bryce. Allowing her to clean him in the shower, allowing her in.

Genuine compassion, Bryce freeing Lehabah and Sphinx, everyone at the meeting watching as Lehabah made the greatest sacrifice for her friends

At the beginning of Hunt and Bryces relationship... not only did Bryce parade around her apartment in her thong, have her pet bite Hunt, make him run errands with her, make him stand in the rain for a long time while she did her nails...

But she also hit Hunt in the face with an umbrella

Hey does anyone else think that Bryce and Danika started saying “light it up” after the incident their senior year and Bryce LITERALLY lighting it up and saving them? Is that like assumed already? Am I late to the game? Anyone else? I only just finished reading CC like two weeks ago, and just finished re-reading it yesterday and that just popped into my head. None of my friends have read this yet so if anyone has thoughts they’d like to share, pls do!

JUST PICTURE. IN CRESCENT CITY BOOK 2...  A HUNT x RUHN BROMANCE/BROTHERHOOD.

This has been my head cannon since I read Ruhn using his mind-speaking abilities at the end of book one. The mutual respect the two males have for each other in those scenes made me so happy. Like, they had come so far from brawling at a public event the year prior! And... I just want Hunt to have a group of male friends like how Rhys has Cassian and Az...

Just, like, imagine... Hunt slowly being accepted into Ruhn’s friend group. Hunt forming healthy independent friendships aside from Bryce. Hunt going over to Ruhn’s house all the time to watch Sunball games with the guys. (In gray sweatpants. And a backwards cap. With Syrinx in tow.) Hunt understanding that those males will do anything to protect those they love, which now includes him. Hunt fully healing from the multitudes of traumas from the past two centuries serving as a slave with the help of Bryce, but mostly from his brothers.

Just casually thinking about how both Danika and Bryce don't have a place in the Afterlife/Bone Quarter meaning they're both gonna absolutely light it up together in the Void for the rest of eternity.
