I’m old and mature enough to be able to like multiple complicated characters at once. If you’re having trouble separating reality from fiction and aren’t physically or mentally capable of doing that because you’ve made hating a fake person your entire identity, that sounds like a you problem. Don’t project that immaturity onto other people. Some of us know how to consume literature in a healthy and critical manner without taking every offense the characters commit so personally we’ve deluded ourselves into thinking we actually live in that fantasy universe.

Oh. OH. of course Feyre forgives Rhys for UtM. They both do terrible things because of Amarantha. Of course she forgives him for the wine and the dancing and her arm and the bargain. She kills those faeries to save everyone else, and she feels awful about it. So of course she forgives him for what he did to her under Amarantha’s power. Because she understands exactly what it’s like? To be in between a rock and a hard place, to have only shitty options so you have to choose the least shitty, to sacrifice your soul in the hopes something good comes of it. I mean. She gets it!!!

thinking about this element of Feyre's character again (and Rhys's) and I think a lot of the anti feysand sentiment essentially grows out of not enjoying this part of their story. People insist they are bad people and not worthy of being the main characters. But the story is explicitly playing with the idea of what if the person who does the Awful Thing in order to save everyone else (and themselves!) does end up getting to come back from that and heal and live a life in which they try to be better?

the reason Feysand works as a pairing is because they are both willing to do awful things to save others—it's the reason they are mates, ie, equals. eg, Rhys is willing to steal from Tarquin and Feyre is as well — they both feel bad about it, but they need the book of breathings and they know he won't give it to them freely.

In the context of their romantic relationship, they accept these characteristics within the other and in fact it's seeing these characteristics in each other that helps them fall in love.

I think this type of romance doesn't appeal to people who want to see characters who do bad things be punished. And SJM has set up a system of morality in which leaders can do bad things to save their people and still be viewed as good —so people who want to see Feyre and Rhys punished will continually be disappointed by this and annoyed by the direction of the story.

And that's okay. No one has to like Feysand. But it seems odd to me to then continue to engage with the books when the Feysand relationship becomes the moral core of the story. Like, maybe it's not for you, then.

(I'm not saying the morality of the acotar world is perfectly done or a moral universe I'd want to live in, but it is fairly clearly laid out, especially across the first 3 books).

Yes Sarah doesn’t truly owe us anything. She is her own person with a life and family that she wants to enjoy in peace. I do not need to see posts of her on vacation or out to dinner or getting ready in the morning.

And BB and SJM can totally decide not to release titles or the covers or the blurbs or synopsis.

But if they are going to make this decision, after announcing that 2 new books will be releasing in October and January with a 3rd following within the year after that. THEN THEY SHOULD BE FUCKEN PROMOTING AND MARKETING THE BOOKS AT LEAST.

SJM should at the very least be transparent with her fandom and make a post saying “I want you all to be surprised when you get handed your pre-order book on release day. I want you excited as you see that title and cover art at your release parties. I want you surprised by what you will be reading in Book 6.”

BB should be promoting the book(s). They don’t need to share the titles or cover art to still get the fandom excited and hyped for a new book in their multi million dollar series by a multi million dollar author. Yet so far all they have done is post the pre sale links, do 1 promo event that was actually planned a year ago but then held off executing till after the book 6 & 7 announcement, 2 FMK videos from said promo event, and some shitty AI created court quiz that went onto their BB acotar website. There is so much more BB could be doing to hype up the books and get the fandom excited.

And personally when the fandom is happy with knowing the plan by the author for the titles and covers and the fans see that the publisher is acknowledging their dedication to the series that can draw in more fans.

You want to stop the endless barrage of angry fans “demanding” more info for an anticipated book release, for a book series that has not had a new book in almost over 5yrs, for a book series that left certain characters on a cliffhanger for almost over 5yrs: then be transparent, be informative, and show us that you are just as fucken excited to return to Prythian as the fucken fans are!!!!!

Because we all are excited to return to Prythian, we just would like to know what the hell the plan is on your end!!!!!

Literally, they are ghosting an entire fandom instead of being upfront about what the plan is.

I’ve been seeing how the Spider-Man movie was treated a mysterious promotion with all the secret characters and who the main villain would be, which genuinely built excitement for the movie.

Now bb can’t do something similar? They can’t do a more creative secretive promo?

Pls they know ppl will buy it and don’t care. Which is why I’m never gonna buy any of them tbh.

Reaching the middle of July with no announcements, I’ve come up with a new idea with all this spare time.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they haven’t even decided on a title.. Is the team deciding how they’re gonna title three books that is one story? One title and just volumes? Three different titles? What about the covers?

For my sanity and boredom this is where my new belief lies.

We’re not getting anything because they don’t have anything to show us!
