a lot of chasing was required for this photo of a busy Hogna radiata mom, but among a sea of lightning fast and near-microscopic Pardosa, she wasn't that much of a challenge and at least it was impossible for her to straight up disappear like they do. as a bonus, her size allowed me to get a good look at the best part: bored children occasionally scurrying across her face before rejoining the pile

Dion and his spider!!
For his outfit, I took inspiration from the Kogyaru age group becaue they are always fashionable!
This also likely isn’t his final look since it feels incomplete…
His spider’s name is Cookie, and she is a fictional species I made called Hogna giganteus! (Note that Hogna is a real genus, but Hogna giganteus is not a real species.)

Hogna wolfie!
this is my field wolf spider, Hogna lenta.
there is nothing for scale in this picture, but she is huge. she’s much larger than a quarter and usually pretty grumpy. I pestered her a little bit for these photos.
I don’t get to see her much, because she’s a little architect and has a bunch of tunnels hidden around her enclosure. so I always take a few pictures when I encounter her.
