Went to Sushi Express (爭鮮) at Sun Plaza for an early lunch to avoid the noon peak hour crowds. Majority of the sushi 🍣 and sashimi items are all priced at S$1.50++ except for certain coloured plates. As the conveyor belt carrying the foods winds pass me, I reached out to pick up the Grilled Shrimp with Sea Urchin 🦐 and Grilled Salmon Belly. The fatty salmon 🐟 with seared skin was so good that I had several plates of it.
The Salmon Roe Gunkan was another of my favourite. Love those seasoned orbs of fish egg that burst with freshness and slight saltiness. Next up, Seasoned Herring with Capelin Roe Sushi combined two separate ingredients into one. I kind of like the different textures the sushi 🍣 offered.
This Grilled Tilapia 🐟 really look like pork loin chop to me. I had a couple of plates of the freshwater fish. The Cooked Scallop Sushi was pretty good too; in fact on the day I was there, the restaurant also served a S$3 version of the giant scallop with roe but I did not try it as me don’t like the roe.
Arctic Surf Clam Sushi with its red “tongue” or foot is a little chewy but sweet in flavour. I also enjoyed the Seasoned Octopus 🐙 which is actually more crunchy then chewy but equally yummy.
Imagine a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake 🫐🍰 for just S$1.50++!!! Totally worth all the calories, not to mention the money. Another slice of it, please. 😋
