A friendship between heather and Billy would’ve been nice to see because Billy was so lonely

They would've been best buds! They would be each other's "if i had to pick a guy/girl." They'd think each others' body is the most beautiful thing in the world, platonically. They would revel in the fact that they dont like each other like that but can still consider each others' bodies perfect. Heather would count her calories and Billy would tug at his scars but they'd look at each other and they'd see absolute perfection.

Heather would invite him over to her place when her father is at "work" and when her mom is drunk. They would gossip and do each other's hair and Billy would steal a piece of Heather's jewelry because he liked having something of hers with him. Heather would notice and purposefully leave out pieces she thinks he'd look good in. Billy would leave his books and magazines and crop tops that are too "gay" to keep at home in her room because no one ever checks. Heather gives him their spare key one night when he comes knocking on her window. Billy gets a drawer in her cupboard, labeled "capital H" for Hargrove but that could pass for Holloway.

They talk crushes. They talk Steve Harrington and Chrissy Cuningham. They would apply together for the public pool, arrange shits one after the other. They talk California and life after school. They talk rent and bills and money because Heather doesnt want to leach off her parents. Heather would tell Billy about fashion and the life she wants to lead. Billy would tell her about his childhood dream of being an author.

Hawkins High would think they're dating. They would lean ito it, be each other's beards. It gets Neil off Billy's back and makes Heather's mom smile so proud. It would make everyone at school jealous. Billy and Heather would shit-talk half the population of it during breaks. They would bicker and bitch-face at people as a hobby. Billy dead-eyeing the freshmen cracks Heather up. Heather's snark and won't-stand-for-this-shit attitude always has Billy grinning.

Heather would tug at his hair to get his attention, or when she's passing him in the halls, because it annoys him so much and to let him know she's there. Billy would leave "love notes" in her locker that are actually his gay-panick on a piece of paper scribbled during third period English where he sits two seats behind and one seat to the right of Harrington.

i got this reel yesterday of this woman on a podcast talking about how she had a gay roommate who would let her just come in to his room and watch him hook up with dudes lmfao and she'd just sit there and watch like not even to get off or anything she was just being an audience 😂

so naturally that got me thinking about billy and heather being roomies with absolutely zero boundaries so when steves over taking billy to pound town, heather will just waltz in and start a whole conversation with billy, and billy wont miss a beat

How I imagine different Billy Hargrove ships getting together because he refuses to leave my head (I’m procrastinating research for my dissertation)

Harringrove: It’s a long process across many years of hooking up and breaking up and fighting. They seem to spilt up for good in their late twenties until they reconnect twenty years later, without any youthful headstrong feelings that kept them apart. They find each other again in a bar in California and just never leave.

Mungrove: Billy learns about Eddie because they run in similar circles in Hawkins. It’s such a small scene, meeting is inevitable and they both have such similar tastes, they hit it off immediately. Billy is eventually worn down and lets Eddie design them couples Hellfire Club shirts.

Calicheer: it’s after cheer practice and Chrissy finds Billy hanging out aimlessly outside the gymnasium, reluctant to go back home. After a long night of talking, he makes a slightly clunky offer of a date and Chrissy is so charmed by him, she accepts.

Hollogrove: Post Starcourt, Billy and Heather are in adjacent beds in hospital. They’d been friends for a couple of months with a reciprocated crush neither had known about. Nothing like almost dying to confess your true feelings for someone though. They escape Hawkins together.

Argilly: There genuinely had never been anyone else. A first kiss for both of them at fifteen, then two years later Neil had found out. Billy was taken from a medium sized town in California to a small town in Indiana. Writing to each other is exceptionally difficult until after the mindflayer. Then Billy finds him again.

Kingrove: It was a secret from literally everyone, both having homophobic and abusive fathers. Good thing both of them are very good at keeping secrets. They break up briefly due to an argument about where to move after high school but get back together within 48 hours. Steve and Heather called it the longest 48 hours of their life.

Byergrove: Jonathan really loves photography. Billy has a passion for short stop motion films. They get paired together for a film project in school and get gradually closer throughout the month before the project is due. Jonathan makes the first move. Billy has a *small* crisis and runs off, before eventually accepting.

Cargrove: Jason is very, very closeted. Billy, slightly less so. Jason decides he wants to *experiment* with same sex relationships and sets his sight on Billy. Billys initial reaction is fuck no, because he isn’t just an experiment but Jason manages to prove that he’s genuine. Eventually.

Harringroveson: Billy and Eddie are together very very fast and Steve can’t decide who he’s jealous of. Turns out, it’s both. But he manages to endear himself to Billy and Eddie with a genuinely earnest and sweet nature and they decide to become a polycule. It works very well.
