Celebrating Moms with Canary
So, I’ve been a tad bit MIA for the past month and a half and for good reason. Easing into mommyhood is hard work! Now that we’re coming up on Tay Tay’s two month milestone, I’m getting my groove back and am even getting back to work on a smaller scale! Anywho, I decided to come back to TM2B with a bang! Just before I delivered my LO, a cool home security system, Canary, reached out to me for a fun Mother’s Day activation that they wanted to do. The premise: install these very cool in-home security cams in various parts of your home and capture footage of the first few weeks home with your new baby. So, myself and 2 other moms participated - check out the video here!
Hilariously enough, the day that Canary came to install my cameras, I later was admitted to the hospital to deliver Tay Tay. So, I never really got a chance to play with the cameras before she arrived! Anywho, during the “filming” process, Canary captured cool things like giving baby a bath, confessionals, and just regular moments as parents try to adjust to parenthood. It was a great experience and I am genuinely glad that my hubby and I decided to participate because it’s no lie that the early days fly by in a blur. And another added bonus is that we were quoted in a number of cool publications afterwards!
Parents New York Parents Upworthy The Drum Pure Wow
Things I learned:
You don’t know exhaustion until you have a child. Newborns plus sleep don’t mix and especially when you’re on those early days 2hr sleep cycle...it’s a serious marathon to get to happier days (read: more sleep).
I was so afraid that I wouldn’t adjust well to being a mom. But even when Tay Tay projectile poops or pees on me...or goes through her 3rd onesie in 3hrs because of said poop...I wouldn’t trade it in for anything.
Do what works for you. There are a lot of things that I never thought I would do before she arrived. But now that she’s here, reality requires you to be flexible.

Home Camera and Security Cameras: Simple Tools for Everyday Safety
Home Camera and Security Cameras: Simple Tools for Everyday Safety
A home camera helps you stay aware of what happens in and around your home. Security cameras support daily safety by giving you a clear view of doors, halls and shared spaces. Many people choose these systems because they want quick updates and easy control. You can check your home at any time and act fast when something happens. With the right setup, these tools make your space safer with little effort.
How Home Cameras Work
A home camera records when it sees motion or when you open the live view. The device sends video to your phone, so you can see what happened in seconds. Most models work through WiFi and use a simple app. This gives you direct access even when you are away. You can watch the clip, save it or get alerts when activity occurs.
Night vision is another key feature. A strong camera brightens dark areas and keeps details clear. This helps you check your home during late hours without turning on lights. Some models include sound detection, which adds extra awareness in rooms with children, pets or sensitive items.
Why Security Cameras Matter
Security cameras protect more than doors. They help you watch deliveries, check outdoor areas and understand what happens when you are not home. A good system reduces guesswork. You can see who visited, when movement happened and whether your home stayed safe.
Strong video quality helps you identify faces and objects. Smooth footage makes it easy to understand each moment without confusion. Smart alerts keep you informed without sending too many notifications. You set how sensitive the camera should be and choose which areas need attention. This keeps the system helpful without becoming overwhelming.
Choosing the Right Camera Setup
Home size shapes your choice. Small homes often need one or two units. Larger homes may need extra cameras for halls, doors and outdoor paths. A good placement plan removes blind spots and gives full coverage.
Indoor cameras work best in living rooms, hallways and shared spaces. Outdoor models should be weather-safe and mounted high for a wide view. A higher angle protects the device and prevents tampering.
Many people combine home cameras and security cameras to build a simple system. One device covers the entrance, another covers the living area and one more watches the outside. This gives a steady picture of daily activity and improves overall safety.
How Cameras Improve Daily Life
A home camera offers comfort, not just security. Parents check on children without entering the room. Pet owners follow activity when they are away. Travelers stay connected to their homes. You get quick, practical information that helps you feel in control.
Security cameras also reduce stress. Instead of wondering what happened, you simply check your phone. Clear video, smart alerts and simple controls turn a small device into a useful daily tool.
What to Consider Before Purchasing a Home Camera in 2025
Selecting a home camera isn’t simply placing a device in your home — it is making a conscious decision about the level of security and convenience you want for your home. As home security has become both more advanced and more affordable, it’s finally time to learn about the features on today’s best home-security cameras — and which will work best for you.
Whether you want to keep an eye on your place, see who’s at the door or simply have your stuff watch so you don’t have to, a home camera, like this one, provides 24/7 visibility right on your phone. The result? A safer, smarter living experience.
Why You Need a Home Camera — Now More Than Ever
From online deliveries to a surge in remote work, we now live our lives balancing being both connected and protected. Here’s where the smart home camera comes in: It splits the difference, giving you round-the-clock contact with your home. You’ll get instant alerts if anything suspicious occurs and can visit anytime from anywhere using your phone.
It’s not only about intruders, however. Home cameras are great for keeping an eye on your older family members, the dog sitter, the housekeeping service and others. And the feeling of mastery and supervision it provides is genuinely valuable to you in your day-to-day living.
5 Key Features to Look for of a Very Good Home Camera
Mobile App Access:
The best home cameras include easy-to-use apps for both iOS and Android. View your live camera feed, review cloud-stored recordings, or share videos with a tap.
Motion-Activated Alerts:
Get real-time push notifications, so you can understand what is happening at your home instantly, no matter how far you are away from home.
Full HD Video & Night Vision:
See more detail with stunning 1080p HD video and a 120-degree field of view, plus crystal-clear night vision that lets you watch live video in total darkness.
Two-Way Audio:
Use your camera’s built-in mic and speaker to talk your delivery drivers, guests, or furry friends through your Echo Show.
Weather Resistance (for outdoors):
For outdoor installs, you should ensure that your home camera is able to cope with the sun, rain and dust.
How to Pick the Right Home Camera for Your Space
Begin by determining where you want coverage: the front porch, the backyard, the living room, the nursery? Different cameras could be needed for each space. Some might need to pan and to tilt; others might need to see a wider field. Then, decide if you want to be able to connect a wire (or if you don’t mind going wire free for convenience).
Finally, verify that the system will work with your smart home devices and network. By investing in a scalable solution that’s app-friendly, you’re guaranteeing that as you grow, your camera system does so as well.
Summary: Simplify Smart Security
If I were to sum it up in one sentence: Keep It Smart, Keep It Simple.
When it comes to monitoring your home, a home security camera is the best addition to complete your smart home. Whether you live away for the weekend or just upstairs, peace of mind comes easily with a smart camera monitoring for break-ins.
It’s 2025, and improving your home security system no longer means lugging around cumbersome equipment or having to figure out a complicated installation process. A single smart camera can be a game changer — and with the right features, one of the smartest purchases you’ll make all year.

My View From My Bed
It took us a while to figure out how to get this done. It was the only thing I was missing from my bedroom. I have this huge window but I can’t see from my bed. I tried switching sides, but even then, I still couldn’t really see. It was very frustrating. It was the only piece missing. My aide had a genius suggestion of using mirrors. I put my brother in-law right on the job. I purchased different…

Benefits Of CCTV Cameras On Your Property
CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras have become common in the 21st century because of the growing security concerns of people.
Over the last few decades, large industries and companies have been using CCTV cameras. Nowadays, homeowners have also started installing CCTVs on their properties. Below are some of the benefits of installing CCTV cameras on your property.
Save on cost
One of the essential benefits of CCTV cameras is the cost that comes with them. Compared to traditional security measures like hiring a security guard, CCTV cameras are cheaper and have a low maintenance cost. After installing CCTV cameras, you can use them for many years without problems. Also, the maintenance cost is low because you can do it yourself.
Deter burglars
Another main reason to install CCTV cameras is their ability to scare and discourage burglars from accessing your property. The sight of CCTV cameras will always scare away burglars because they know that someone is watching.
When installing a home camera system, it is essential to install it at main entrances and exits. This way, you can monitor every person entering or leaving your property. Also, you can add a sign that warns burglars that your property is under CCTV surveillance.
