An early history of the Taneali
This post begins to explore the rich history of the Tanealians, starting with the very early days: Etymology: “Daab” is believed to have originated from the ancient Taedrian (Kiliid area clan) roots for lawmaker and kingdom. This was proposed to have come from the proto-Taedra that was prominent in the Gudele (Togóa viul) era before the kingdom of Daab. This was during the time when proto-Taedra was used by all of modern-day Simieba, Daab and the Hondrasoke as this was the area inhabited by the Taneali people. Vervott (the beginning): Only few stories describe how the Taneali came to be in their current location within Orastim. Furthermore, their accuracy is severely doubted. Nonetheless, they may provide interesting accounts of the origin of settlement by the Taneali. The first account recalls the digression of a small group of Taneali from the ancient centre (modern Senatu Telie), following the migration of many different peoples due to the increasing presence of evil spirits (laelitu) in that area of the world. Another account, more scientific, describes the Taneali as being a loose collection of beings that simply originated in their current area from pre-Tanealian beasts, and created settlements through increased intelligence. The third account, a religious one, records the creation of the area known as Taneali by the supreme god, Pimaata. Through her wisdom and guidance, the Taneali were able to create settlements and eventually join together. Still another account, quite far-fetched, describes the Taneali as arriving from a distant land, either on Orastim or beyond it, though no evidence at all has been found of this arrival from elsewhere or as to how they would have got to Endrez (the landmass/continent) in the first place. The earliest evidence of Tanealians in Endrez dates back to at least 72,000 years (roughly 12,000 earth years) before the beginning of Gudele/Tigóa Viul... Back in these ancient days, the Taneali were little more than a few clans strung together across a vast area, stretching from deep within modern Simieba territory right across to the edge of the Talees Rei. Each clan had little regard for the each other’s borders- leading to many disputes between them. This period of time was known as the age of the clans (Nesilabii) and is remarked for the expansion of Tanealian culture, the increase in population and townships, the domestication of various wild animals, the origin and scholarly interest of magic, leading to an increase in knowledge as well as being a period of great upheaval among the Tanealians. The clans that dominated this era include the Kiliid (inhabiting the current area of Besaeme over to Talees Rei and stopping just short of Port Leim but eventually occupying over near Bireeli and down to Badiesai and Tanubar), the Famaas (inhabiting Fidaala lake and over to the Nenei river, eventually increasing their borders to include Tabeis), the Seria (inhabiting near Port Leim down to Famezon along the Talees Rei and in towards Badiesai, though lost the area around Badiesai to the Kiliid), the Mimealaa- the largest clan (inhabiting much of the Hondrasoke and over towards Fii, though were pushed back by an advancing Malalir tribe into northern Hondrasoke), and the Senia (inhabiting the area near Nemiese and expanding around the Daap lake).
