See my conflict with the mechsploitation hornyposting is that yes it's hot, but I also want pilot-X-support-staff yuri with trans themes, d/s vibes and a side of trauma where the mecha are like... normal. Maybe I just hate fun but IMO a mech connecting directly to your brain and irreparably fucking you up in exchange for cataclysmic power is the domain of forbidden super prototypes, and actually loses some impact when it's just how all mecha work. Plus there's a limit to how much corporate forever-war I can take before I hit "too bleak, stopped caring."

Also I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone exploring the other end of the mech grittiness spectrum with super robots. I mean come on, you've got love and other emotions as a literal source of power, combination as a metaphor for intimatcy (as flowery or explicit as you want it to be), enough kinship with magical girls that you can easily bring in whatever tropes you want from them... it's all right there! (Shoutout to Superwomen In Love for actually doing this albeit as a one-off)

LOF update?

So the day I posted the Rebound Season prologue, someone slid into my asks with a highly invasive question about Paige. It was really weird to me because I don’t really answer questions about them other than stuff we know to be true or something that isn’t harmless (like where Azzi will get drafted and if Paige is really working out with Kyrie during the offseason). And also because I just write fics lol.

Then it got me thinking about if I should even be posting if people are going to be invasive and stuff like that. And I understand that the person who sent the ask is probably a child who hasn’t been taught any better. So, to all of the minors on the app, before you ask questions, make comments, and post speculations, think about if you would be offended if someone was saying that kind of stuff about you or one of your friends. I know people share a lot on the internet, but it’s okay to keep a large portion of your thoughts to yourself!

All this to say that the tags are tainted. My inbox is tainted. And I’m taking a break from posting fics. Maybe til the end of the W season. Hopefully things will chill out by then.
