( * somehow, alfred and bomi had been able to hide their relationship for a few more weeks, but she could sense that his mother no longer believed the lie that they had told her -- that they had broken things off for now. they had only told her this lie because they needed to work out a plan to determine how they could convince the older woman that they loved one another and needed each other. that alfred was no longer willing to meet with the women that his father set him up with. they needed his mother on their side so that they could, fingers crossed, eventually convince his father, who was hard-headed, stubborn, and adamant about alfred marrying a girl in the same social class. they had decided to invite his mother out to afternoon tea, so bomi put on a cute dress while alfred had on a suit. the two arrived at the tea parlor first and took a seat. bomi reached out, taking his hand in hers as they waited for the older woman to arrive ) do you think she's going to be okay? ( * she asked nervously as she gave his hand a light squeeze )

( * bomi was in such a happy place as of late. was this what it meant to be in love? it was weird. their friendship hadn't really changed. they were still alfred and bomi to everyone on the outside, but inside, their hearts had stirred in a different way. they promised to take things slowly. after all, moving too fast would have probably overwhelmed her who was still completely new to this thing called relationships. however, she loved holding his hand on dates and stealing kisses from him when they were alone in the movie room together. they didn't really change the way they hung out with each other, aside from the small physical things that obviously friends didn't do with one another. it had been about a month that they had been "seeing" each other when his mother had surprised them with her appearance. they had been in the kitchen, baking cookies together when she was about to lean in to peck his cheek when his mother walked in, eyes widening at the sight before her ) mrs. lee! ( * bomi quickly bowed towards the older women as she scooted about a foot away from the male. were you just about to kiss alfred, bomi? the older female asked ) uh ... ( * she didn't know how to answer. did she lie? did she tell the truth? but she didn't know how to lie to the woman who was like a second mother to her ) i ... maybe? ( * she looked over at alfred, her eyes pleading to him for help )

/' no matter how much sanhyuk pretended he was mature enough to handle his attraction to his new tutor, he was an eighteen year old boy. his gaze drifted from the paper he was supposed to be taking notes on to the far too attractive woman. / "yujin, tutor or noona. what should i call you?" /' the question came with perked brows and a mischievous glint. they'd had a couple lessons already, but he hadn't yet determined this answer. / "you're not really a teacher, so i can't call you that. it would be improper." /' much like the improper thoughts he had had and spoke about yujin to his friends. a hot tutor. he had to brag. and he had to do anything to avoid doing the work. / "i thought i should ask you." /' he smiled innocently at her./

a whole new world ;

her impending arrival to the gala left her a mess. though she was wearing a rather extravagant evening gown curtesy of her boss, there was no doubt in her mind she'd stick out like a sore thumb. despite that her hair was curled, her makeup done specifically to bring out her natural glow, she still felt like her social status would be obvious to others. besides, weren't rich people just easy at finding commoners? all of the fanciest gowns in the world couldn't hide that sunmi was a secretary. the one that everyone ignores because she wasn't all that important. just a messenger with a pretty face. there was a paranoia that everyone would just be able to tell that she didn't belong there. she was going to look like a fool. she was going to fail her boss miserably. at least, that's what she thought in her mind.

but then again, he did promise that he'd take care of everything. sunmi found her trust in him outweighing her countless worries. she gave out a shaky breath to ease herself some. there was no need for her to worry, right? he would take care of everything...

the car came to a slow stop. there were a myriad of bright lights and soft chatter she could hear just outside of the car. sunmi's eyes lifted from her hands (which were growing clammy, might she add) to the tinted window. her jaw dropped in slight awe at the gala entrance. there was a velvet carpet lined with lights that guided people who were obviously used to things such as this. the most dazzling, shining cars lined the front, immediately being cared for by valet. there was no doubt that this wasn't a place for paupers like herself. the chauffeur opened the door for her. there was a moment of hesitation on sunmi's end. for a second she contemplated just asking to be driven home but she couldn't leave her boss like that. not after he's done so much for her.

with some aid from the kind chauffeur, the dark haired maiden managed to exit the car in an orderly fashion. it was a surprise she didn't trip over her dress or do something as equally as embarrassing. she managed to walk towards the entrance with little difficulty. given the stares she was receiving, she could only assume that her stylist did a good job with her hair as well as her makeup. the stares eventually turned into spared glances. she was just one other attendee upon entering. even so, she felt out of place. only the sight of her boss finally put her fringed nerves at ease.

trying not to see too awed by the expensive decor (though her doe-eyed expression might have given her away), she slipped into a spot standing next to her boss silently. he was busy with other patrons so she knew it would be rude to interrupt. though just staying by his side made her feel less like an eyesore.

♣ - blinking lights of many colors were harsh to untrained eyes when wandering against the noticeably smoky background where bodies writhed and twisted and alcohol aided in loud behaviors. suzy, however, was trained in the art of seeing past the visible and into the differences of the environment she immersed herself within easily, one had to keep themselves safe in a smart way when unpredictable factors presented the worries any sane person would have, even if the buzz of alochol she'd conned off older generations kept her system warmed in the chill that had been nonexistent in such a stifling room of packed and compressed child-like adults.

truth be told she was far out of the realm of legality here, the teenager having conned her way multiple times to the particular bar she found herself seated at now. she chalked it up to the mature air and the red lips she was so fond of on these saturday nights though she knew it was the thrill and rush of being able to even get away with such a problematic act that kept her returning like a cat to it's milk bowl.

suzy was a fan of control.

the reasoning could have stemmed from the fact she was so helpless in her home, the parents hold upon her fate such an iron clad nightmare that she often felt suffocated and the danger helped her breathe again. so she would return and she would return again and each time a new friend would be in tow because one could never know which acquaintances would really keep them grounded most, here in the midst of pandoras box. this friend had much to drink, sloppily leaning against the counter and egging suzy to go and try to see if she could seduce a patron here. she didn't have to follow through but her friend wasn't convinced she could do it at all.

the very statement impassioned the youth and with the directive to choose her target the female started off to push her way through the crowd, walking confidently on towering heels.

the one she'd pointed out, no doubt randomly in her horrid haze, was quite attractive. she hardly payed attention to the angles of his face to place his age, assuming he'd be in his middle twenties, but instead let her eyes roam over each carefully placed limb and tightly pulled material of his clothing that gave her more of a show than his words would no doubt -she never had much faith in her unfortunate counterparts as her shoulders kept straight and the subtle place of silken ebon locks brushed her collarbone as she approached his figure and let gently shaded eyes flicker down to the empty space beside him before smoothing the short skirt down so she could sit, voice and mannerisms lazy with confidence.

"Are you expecting different company? I'll have to tell them I claimed your time for a bit."

the concert in new york had come to a close. the whole trip had had its crazy ups and downs, but it was finally over, and by the looks of it, it was a great success. the boys put on a great performance and did a wonderful job greeting the fans well. yura really was proud of each and every single one of them. she still remembered the says when she had first heard of the boy group, vixx. truth be told, she had no idea that they would get to the place they were at today.

"noona, we're going to go get food. do you want to come with us?" hyuk asked, his face animated and excited as it always was. she and hongbin already knew this was going to happen, but because they had wanted to spend the remainder of the trip together, they already had a plan in place. "i'm ... actually not feeling too great," she heard hongbin say aloud, just as they had decided upon.

she pretended to look conflicted, as if it were the world's most difficult decision as to whether she would leave with the group or with hongbin alone. "you guys go on ahead," she finally noted. "i want to make sure he's okay." she smiled at the others, congratulating them once more on their excellent work tonight.

"are you alright?" she asked, rubbing his back as part of her act. "let's get you back to the hotel, hm? do we need to stop by the pharmacy or anything on our way there?" frankly, she was thinking that perhaps there were a few things that they might need from there. namely alcohol. with how busy she had been, she hadn't had much time for drinking as of late, and she honestly thought that a night of drinks, cuddling, and making out with her boyfriend sounded like the perfect way to end their trip in the states. not that she needed the alcohol. all that came naturally when she was around hongbin. he brought the side of her that she had once thought she had lost completely, but he had pieced her heart together again. she looked around, pulling on her hat as she laced her fingers with his, knowing that everyone around them was gone.
