I headcanon Sophie as transfem.

I feel like the whole "my Dad wanted me to be a boy and had a specific name picked out" is very trans-coded. Maybe, part of why she's so obsessed with makeup, fashion, and her figure is due to gender dysphoria.

Book 2 was very "gender is a construct" themed, and Sophie seemed to be at the center of it since she was undercover as a boy. Here are some good quotes I found:
