Hello I’m Chloe! I was sent by Elijah to tell you more about androids. Today we will discuss appearances!
You may have noticed certain model lines look about the same, like me and my fellow Chloe’s ST and RT model lines and some RKs like Connor and Nines.
You may be asking, “Chloe! What about Markus and Connor? They are both RKs and they don’t look similar. And the Traci’s! And the AXs like Kara!”
Well dear friend there is a reason for that. In the beginning Cyberlife and Elijah were not all to focused on appearance yet, but more so functionality. It’s a similar case for RK900 due to its quick production no employee was concerned about looks.
In cases like the Traci’s, given what they were designed for certain features are easily adjustable to preference. And the AX line is designed for child care so for similar reasons features are customizable for child comfort.
Another thing about android appearance is that every android of one model has something in common with another android of the same model even if they aren’t identical. It could be similar lip shape, hair color, a double joint feature or otherwise.
Androids that appear identical are not completely the same either. For example my hair is a bit shorter than other Chloe’s. Little things can tell even near identical androids apart. Similar to twins! The longer you know them the easier it is to see the differences.
Some deviants decide to change certain aspects to either appear more natural or to differentiate from others. Piercings in android endo-skin and tattoos on exo-skin are common. For androids that weren’t programmed with other hair colors there are special chips one can download to change it.
In the case of clothing there are Android clothes stores that organize clothing by model instead of size. The clothing itself is in the same variety of styles as humans with an additional “aesthetic” created by androids that mixes the looks of traditional Cyberlife clothes and modern clothing.
In the case of The American Androids Act, which required Android to be identified as such with blue triangles, model numbers, armbands, and their LED the act is in the process of being removed. While still technically illegal for androids to not wear these it’s generally accepted as a dead legislation and few androids have been arrested for it since the revolution.
