Imagine convincing Loki to house-sit for you while you’re on a two-week trip halfway across the country. It’s not a “bad” neighborhood or anything, but you just feel better knowing you have a trusted friend around. (Besides, it keeps him sort-of out of trouble, since he won’t be bugging the Avengers.)
But there’s one little detail that you conveniently didn’t tell Loki when you asked, and there’s no way you’re saying anything until it’s too late for him to back out.
He comes over some time before you leave that day to get everything situated. The guest room, where everything is, don’t freak out when it’s dead-silent and the clock starts chiming, you can only get hot water from the kitchen sink if you turn the spigots a very certain way with no goof whatsoever, etc.
As Loki walks with you to your car to see you off, you finally divulge The Thing about him house-sitting for you.
“Oh! And before I forget. I’ve never slept in the guest bedroom, so I don’t know. But maybe close the door when you sleep; it’s less noisy.”
Loki gives you a confused look. “Your ventilation system, I assume?”
You bite your lip before continuing. “Well, no…” your speech speeds up as you tell him. “The original owners’ kids sometimes wake me up at two in the morning asking for water. Did I mention they lived here way back in the 1890s? Thank you so much, Loki! I’ll see you in two weeks!”
You quickly hug him around the waist before jumping in your car and driving to the airport.
Meanwhile, Loki is stunned and, understandably, apprehensive. What did he just agree to?!
Does he last the two weeks, or does he pawn the task off on someone else while he stays in the safety of Stark Tower?
