Hi, I'm having a weird problem with your submit form. Every time I click the link, I'm prompted to 'log in' to tumblr despite being logged in. When I click 'log in' I'm redirected back to the dashboard. Then when I go back to your blog to submit, I get the same prompt to log in. It's an eternal cycle. I don't expect you to play IT, but would it be alright for me to send submissions in the inbox since the submit form isn't working, provided I format it?
Unfortunately no - we cannot accept submissions via the ask box.
Asks can't be queued like submissions; we'd have to manually copy/paste and format each askbox quote into a new post to be queued, and we simply don't have the time or manpower to do that.
(A related reminder: ALL QUOTES SUBMITTED VIA THE ASKBOX ARE AUTOMATICALLY DELETED. Everyone who submitted via ask recently - and there are several of you - please re-submit via the submit box.)
Our best guess is that this issue happens because of a weird interaction between our custom domain, Tumblr cookies, and your browser's privacy controls. If that's the case, you can try to get around the bug by whitelisting shitmyplayerssay.com in your browser's privacy settings. We aren't collecting your data, we don't want or need your data, we're not up to anything, it's just that (we think) this bug happens due to how third-party cookies are defined.
Anyone who experiences this bug, please report it to Tumblr support! They're the only ones who can do anything about it.
Sorry, Anon - Tumblr has locked submissions down pretty hard. We wish we could do more to fix things!
Simply sign up as a contributor for the “Art” category. Close to the end of the section you will be asked if you want to apply as a cover artist. Choose whether you want to apply for the SFW or NSFW cover, and done!

I got a few questions from different people about how submissions worked, so I figured I'd make a post about it! TL;DR is in blue
Click here to go straight to submissions! Or use the Submit a Post button at the top of the blog! (Tumblr article on how to submit posts)
Note: Submissions do not notify the submitter when they have been posted. I always tag submissions with the URL of whoever submitted them so you can search my blog to find your submission later. But if you want some other notification e.g. if you want to be notified or have your name IN the body of the post, feel free to add "submitted by @ Username" to the bottom of the post! I don't mind.
Rules and recommendations:
Real-life suffering is not a prompt. I hope it goes without saying, but photos of real-life suffering and tragedy don't belong on a silly prompt blog. Please don't knowingly submit any such image.
Don't submit AI Art! Just don't.
Please use the new post format when submitting, not the old one. If you don't know what I'm talking about, refer to this staff post. If you're submitting from a mobile device anyways don't worry about it. (If you're curious as to why I ask this: the old legacy editor posts required tags to be entered in individually, but with the new web editor you can copy/paste a bunch of tags in one go - this makes tagging posts a lot easier and faster 😅)
Don't submit text-only prompts with no people/characters pictured! A text conversation or message board convo between people without at least profile pictures next to the messages has no place to insert a character as an art prompt!
Don't Submit a post with the Ask button. Submissions are for prompts, Asks are for questions and comments!
Don't include multiple pictures in one submission (unless it's a comic-type prompt with multiple panels) Y'all know I have a rigorous tagging system, and it's easier to tag/categorize one prompt per post. If you have a whole bunch of prompts, just submit them individually one at a time. Don't worry about flooding my inbox, I promise it's fine.
Don't submit a drawing made by somebody else! Unless you know their username and have express permission to repost their art with credit, I won't repost a drawing made by somebody else. This doesn't generally apply to things like public domain art, super old paintings (like European Renaissance-era), and screenshots of animations and movies (Unless it's an indie animation in which case I want to provide a link to it! In this house we love and support indie projects!!)
You are welcome to @ me in a post you think would make a good prompt! This is a valid way to submit a prompt! ESPECIALLY if you draw a prompt yourself!! Same as submission rules, I just ask that you tag me on posts consisting of 1 individual prompt and not just a big mass of like 10+ different prompts posted by one person. For the sake of easier blog navigability, I don't wanna rb posts that are 5 kilometers long.
If the prompt is from a show/movie or something, feel free to add the source if you know it! It's just nice to have in case anyone is curious.
I’d like to submit an entry but I never use Tumblr so I don’t know how. Can you help me out?
TYIA!
Hi and welcome!
If you are on desktop, click on the [...] button and then on "Submit"
It will lead you to this page which will remind you of the categories, the rules and calendar and will have this box at the bottom of the page
This is where you can submit your piece. Note that if you are logged in your account the Name/email entries at the upper right will just show your blog icon.
Once you've pasted/written your piece there, you get to choose the appropriate tags for your piece (you need to give us the category your piece belongs to, but the others are optional). If you wish to add other tags that aren't proposed here, you can just put them at the end of your piece, and I will add them manually before posting it.
I am not quite sure if the submission button appears properly on the mobile app, so I'd suggest you try opening the link above from the app if it doesn't show.
If you experience any difficulty, shoot me a DM and we'll find a workaround.
How to submit your story to be posted on the SPNFanFicPond blog and attract new readers
One of the benefits of being a member of the Pond is being able to submit your stories to us to be posted and spread your work to a wider audience. We have put together this guide so we can help you get your story in front of a wider audience.
Detailed instructions on how to submit your stories and how to help us get the tagging right are all below the cut:
There are two ways to submit a story to the Pond: via desktop or mobile browser app, and the Tumblr app.
Via desktop or mobile internet browser app:
Click on the Submission link in the Navigation block at the top of the Pond blog.
On the drop down list, change from Text submission to Link submission.
In URL, use your permalink URL for your post with your story. Your screen will then look like this:
You do not need to edit the text in the description if you don't want to! However, you do have to click the relevant tags in the list underneath the description. For example, the tags for this story would look like this:
(Why all of these tags? Keep scrolling down to find out!)
Click on the relevant tags, accept the Terms of Submission, click Submit, and you're done!
How to submit on the Tumblr app:
Submitting via the app, whether it's Android or iOS, is fairly easy, though not without it's annoyances. Mainly, the app will automatically load up ALL of the tag options, and you need to manually remove the ones that don't apply. Below is a step-by-step tutorial on submitting via the app. (Special thanks to @negans-lucille-tblr for the help with the screenshots!)
Click on the envelope in the top right corner of the screen, and some version of the question below will appear. You want to Submit Your Fics.
A screen like this will appear (with your URL and icon instead of Bee's). Tap on the link icon at the bottom of the screen and paste your post's URL into the box that pops up.
Your screen will look something like this:
Tap the # icon at the bottom of the screen, and the tags editor will slide up from the bottom of the screen. Tap on each tag that you want to remove, and it will change color and a little x will appear. Tap on the x to remove that tag. (Backspacing or deleting may also work, depending on your phone's keyboard and OS.)
(Why all of these tags? Keep scrolling down to find out!)
Once you've removed all of the irrelevant tags, tap on Done, then Submit, and you're all done!
If you have any problems submitting either on the app or on desktop, or if you think we need to clarify or update something in this tutorial, please send us an ASK and let us know!!
What's the deal with all of the tags?
This is part of our initiative to attract more readers to follow both the Pond blog and your blog! The way new readers find stories and writers they love is through searching Tumblr for tags. We want the Pond blog to become one-stop shopping for all the SPN fan fiction that readers could want, leading them to all of the great writers in our fishy family! By clicking all of the relevant tags in your submission, you will prompt us to add a whole host of relevant tags to our reblog of your story. This will help get your story in front of more readers!
A while back, we asked you all to submit tags that you thought were important, along with all of their variations. We now have a pretty extensive list of tags to use. The trick is getting them all in place on each post. This won’t be easy, and honestly, there will be times when we can’t. That being said, we will do our best to make it work most of the time.
Here is the list of tags that are on the submission page for you to use and what each of them means:
Tags for submissions that are not stories:
Angel Fish Award Nom - This tag is not for story submissions. When you use this tag, we will need a link to the story you want to nominate as well as a short blurb about why you want to nominate the story entered into the description box.
submission from primary blog - Only use this tag if your writing blog is not your main blog!
I'm running a challenge and my fellow pondies should come check it out - This is pretty self-explanatory.
masterlist - Only use this when you are submitting either your own masterlist or the masterlist to a series instead of one of the chapters.
Member type tags:
guppy fic
jelly fish fic
big fish fic
mutual fic
beta fic
Trigger Warning Applies:
Check this box if your story contains any of the following:
tw: violence
tw: mcd
tw: major character death
tw: noncon
tw: dubcon
tw: underage
tw: incest
tw: anal sex
tw: mpreg
tw: pregnancy
tw: sexual abuse
tw: domestic violence
tw: abuse
tw: suicide
tw: cheating
tw: miscarriage
tw: panic attack
tw: mental illness
tw: substance abuse
tw: anxiety
tw: drowning
tw: consensual non-consent
If you use the Trigger Warning tag, then we will expect you to include all applicable warnings in the header of your submission! We will apply the appropriate warning tag(s) based on your header. (This list is subject to change. If there are trigger warnings you would like to see added to this list, send us an ask or a private message!)
Pairing Tags:
reader insert - Use this tag along with the tag for the other half of the pairing. For example, if the pairing is Dean x Reader, you would use this tag and the 'dean winchester' tag.
dean winchester
sam winchester
castiel
destiel
wincest
RPF - Use this tag if your story features actors from the show instead characters on the show.
jensen ackles
jared padalecki
misha collins
J2 - This is for a romantic pairing, not platonic.
Cockles
no pairing - If there is no pairing, you can also add a character tag from above if the story is centered on a particular character.
other pairing - There are a million other pairings in the SPN fandom, but we only have 30 slots for tags. We will take the pairing from your header and try to add all of the relevant tags for you.
Genre tags: (Use all you feel are relevant.)
fluff fic
angst fic
smut fic
crack fic
Story length tags:
one shot - Some readers don't want to invest in a series, so this tag will help them find quick stories.
series - Some readers like to read an epic tale, so this tag will help them find longer, more involved stories.
What the Pond Admins will do with these tags when we get your submission:
When we receive your submission, we will add a host of additional tags to our reblog of your story based on what you have checked in the submission form above. To use the example in the screenshots above (for the desktop submission), we would add the following tags to that reblogged post:
#fan fiction, #fanfiction, #fan fic, #fanfic, #spn fan fiction, #spn fanfiction, #spn fan fic, #spn fanfic, #supernatural fan fiction, #supernatural fan fic, #supernatural fanfiction, #sam x reader, #sam winchester, #sam winchester x reader, #sam winchester fan fiction, #sam winchester fan fic, #sam winchester fanfiction, #sam winchester fanfic
Although this is nowhere near a complete list of tags that could be added to our example here, we are hoping that this is enough to get your stories circulating further than we have before. It will be more than twenty tags, and since Tumblr only tracks the first twenty, any more we would add would just be showing off, anyway.
Hopefully this guide has helped you learn how to submit your stories to the Pond and help us to better serve you! We hope this spreads your works farther and helps you build your audience! If you have any questions or concerns, send us an ASK, or send a message to @mrswhozeewhatsis!
I would like to ask if you could explain how submissions work? (I'm kinda new in tumblr, so I don't know what is this.)
Hi, welcome to Tumblr :)
How do submissions work?
Submissions are posts that someone sends to a blog, so that that blog can publish them from their account. For my blog, I accept submissions in the form of prompts. To be published, they should generally fit the kind of format I use with my prompts.
Different types of prompts:
Dialogue Prompts
Ex. “Stop calling me Princess!” “I apologize, my Queen.”
Text Prompts
Ex. Sometimes, being under a truth spell just means not being able to lie about being fine anymore.
Three Words
Ex. Use the words ghosttown, camera and lake in your next story.
Write about
Ex. Write about a very unusual wedding proposal.
Pick your characters
Ex. Pick your characters and let them compete in a game show. + if it’s a controversial show with questionable challenges ++ if they lied during casting to get on the show and now they got to pretend to be who they said they were/be what they said they were
Imagine your OTP
Ex. Imagine your OTP saying I love you to each other five times without the actual (romantic) meaning of it. + if one time they say it right
Place, Time, Character(s)
Ex. Place: Palazzo della Signoria, Florence, Time: 1504, Character(s): time travelling art students
5 + 1 Things
Ex. 5 times Person A has to save Person B and 1 time Person B returns the favor.
Quotes (need to have proper credit!)
Ex. “I miss the girl you were.” “Many will. She was easier to kill.”
Where?
To submit something, go to my blog and click on the Submit your own prompts! button under my bio (browser) or in the chat icon (app).
Credit
I will always put {Submitted by: y/n} under each submission with a link to the blog and I put their account name in the tags. If you want to submit something, but don't like to do it under your name, just let me know :)
Also: here is the submission button!
And please read my Blog Etiquette.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Hope this clears it up and there are some really great submissions coming up, so look out for them!
This will answers questions like how to submit, what to tag, etc. Please read this once before submitting your piece to the event! Thank you.
HOW TO SUBMIT?
Now, this is pretty easy to do. If you’ve seen the submissions page, you might have noticed the short guideline there.
The method is basically how the “Post to Collection” feature on AO3 works. You go to the submissions page, choose Text option, copy/paste your work in the given space, and bam. Halfway done.
WHAT TO TAG?
You might’ve noticed that I wrote “halfway done.” But you submitted your piece! What could be missing?
Tags, obviously!!
sterek rrc - where rrc = round robin challenge
sterek
derek hale
stiles stilinski
prompt [number] - multiple prompts might be going on at the same time, in the same round, so a distinction is necessary, plus it’s easier to keep track this way
round [number]
round [number] prompt [number] - like so: "round one prompt one" and NOT like "round 1 prompt 1"
Tag all the characters who have a purpose in your piece. For example, if you have Stiles and Lydia studying together, and you write, “Lydia left in a graceful fashion, as she always did, but Stiles couldn’t help but think that she left him alone in a trap. Now with her gone, he’d have to talk to Derek.” Here, Lydia does something that impacts the story. She is the catalyst for Stiles and Derek talking, so you tag her as a character. But if you write, “Stiles saw Derek standing at the edge of the lacrosse field, arms crossed, eyes boring onto where Stiles was sitting on the bleachers with Lydia, books spread in between them. Cutting a quick glance at Coach, Stiles made his way over, telling Lydia he’ll be back soon.” Here, Lydia is only there for an interaction between her and Stiles. She doesn’t affect his decision/the story in any way. So, you would not tag Lydia Martin as a character. Got it? Good. If not, you can always ask!
Tag the Ship. Sterek is a given, but if you make another ship a part of your ‘verse, tag it. Tag literally all of them, but only those which are double-sided, mutual-pining/already together kind of ships. No one-sided ones.
HOW TO TAG?
What is the format? Where do I tag what? The answer is here!
In the “tags” section, aka the tags that help everyone find what they’re looking for, you will tag everything mentioned above, in the exact order that they’re mentioned.
Now, in the text section, where you’ll put the written piece, you will have to write these things above the beginning of your piece. Separate the two with a “read more.” [If you don’t know how to do so from your phone, check out this post by Mod S]
Chapter [number] - Title
Written for @sterek-roundrobinchallenge
Author: @yourblogname
Team: #1 or #2 or #3
Ship(s): Sterek, [other ships]
Warning(s): Example - Warning: Kate Argent/Internalized Homophobia/Graphic Depictions of Violence etc.
Tags: [Max 5 tags relevant to your piece]
[your piece]
If you would like an example post, then please don’t hesitate to ask! It’s open just for you to have an easy and fun experience, yeah?
