Car chase scene in TVL The Vampire Lestat book Gabrielle driving a black Porsche with Lestat and Louis post SF concert.

Now that the final concert in the show will be in New Orleans, I wonder if we'll get this car chase scene. Also, Lestat will be driving a bottle green Camaro with MOJO number plates. (Sheeeeez Rolin you're cramping my style but I forgive you bc of Mojo mention)

Set in a vague post season 2 era, largely an exploration of Louis and rockstar Lestat's intimacy featuring antagonism (for a purpose and for Louis's love of the game), bickering, and fucking.

‘All That’s Best of Dark and Bright’

It’s here! I can now post the piece(s) I did for @tdvzine Volume 2! This piece was my contribution to the nsfw add-on “Encore”.

You may remember that I posted the preview for this artwork (and it’s brother contribution) last July, so if you you’ve been curious, I’m so excited to share these finished pieces.

For this piece I wanted to blend the worlds of AMC’s IWTV/TVL with the original inspiration of the Vampire Chronicles books. I’m such a sucker for the lavish fashion of the 18th century (though there’s almost none here 😂) and the aesthetics of lace, taffeta, silk, and candle light. To me that is true gothic romance, the origin of all later aesthetics in that vein.

I wanted to show a version of Louis who, despite the assured obstacles of his era, still held the authority attributed to him in the original book of Interview with Vampire*, still held the fortune and merchant class aristocracy. Still held his not inconsiderate power over Lestat.

And I wanted to show how all versions of Lestat love their Louis and want to worship at his feet, united in the Blood. To quote TVL, “I ached for him, ached for his romantic illusions, and even his dishonesty. I ached even for his gentlemanly malice and his physical presence, the deceptively soft sound of his voice.”

The nsfw element might be quite tame in this piece, but I hope the deeper layers of this moment speak more to their union than just the glimpse of skin belies.

*it would have to be a much kinder world, I understand, but we can live in the fantasy for just a moment, oui?
