Tumblr
Ok so it's been a couple of months. I've seen how everything has played out and a question hits me. If tumblr was so worried about it's site being used to traffic child pornography, why not do the world a favor and use their power to flag and catch pedophiles? Why punish the whole internet for the actions of a few. Who mind you aren't even affected by this because they know they dodged a bullet--instead of going to jail like they should be, they are just having their connection to other pedos cut off and loosing some of their kiddie stashes.
Do not misunderstand me, I'm not bring bitter I'm speaking truth. Tumblr could have been an internet hero, the could have partnered up with local law enforcement and worked together to catch these threats before anymore children could be hurt. True there is the invasion of privacy to factor in, but seeing as they are violating it right now that shouldn't matter.
Also tumblr gives you the option to report content like that. So why was it/is it still an issue (because those blogs are still out there). The reporter counts as a witness, tumblr holds an investigation, if it's like higher than a certain percentage of pedo shit and it's analyzed by a psychologist. Then send in the cops and shut the blog down. Check the photos for victims.
Ive seen criminal minds and law and order svu. I have an illustration of how these things could be handled.
Sure it's alot of work but guess what the PR on this idea would skyrocket the company in approval ratings. Once a good chunk of pedos were caught, word would spread and they would stop using the site, and a ton of children's lives would be all the safer for it. That's how you handle the issue of child porn on your site. Not censorship and destruction of innocent people's blogs. That is why everyone is upset with you tumblr, besides their secret outlets to explore themselves being ruined, but because we are all being punished for others' criminal actions.
