A reimbursement form running dozens of pages sparked quite a discussion in the Finance Department. I happened to be there and confirmed it had his signature style all over it. My guess: Either he took on a project that matched his tastes, or he treated that business trip like a vacation.

Do you think the ipc will become an enemy in the future and what are your thoughts on the theory that they're a faction of the voracity and not the preservation (if the theory hasn't been disproven)

I think that the theory was addressed in game in 4.3, and technically denied. Does that mean its actually false? Nah.

Pearl only knows so much. Even if she doesnt really like, lie, she can only confirm what she knows as true based on the information she has. If she has false or incomplete information, she’s screwed.

Even if they started out as Preservation.. that doesnt mean they havent been led astray.

They’re literally space capitalists, like if that doesnt say Voracity, idk what does..

But I dont believe that all of the IPC is Voracity. Hell, outta stonehearts, we have three that absolutely align with the Preservation for sure. Jade.. ehhhh.

As for being enemies.. yeah its going to keep happening.

Even if they enter an Alliance… the IPC is HUGE. And theres still consistent infighting. Hell, Aventurine and Boothill’s whole friendship is derivative of a shared desire to kill Oswaldo.

We will clash with the IPC, and the Stonehearts.

I wouldnt say that they’re say, genuine enemies, but they’re certainly antagonistic.

They are unlikely to be ones we ever fully beat. We’ve got bigger bads than the IPC currently, and well.. the IPC is huge.. and unfortunately does have its uses.

Now we could probably beat them into submission.. but that’ll take awhile lmao.

First, wrong phrasing on my part, sorry! I mean that yes, it eventually benefits both parties. Isn't Cerydra's story about her doing things that no one else wants to do? And it’s not her desire to rule. She does it, but she doesn’t really want to.

Again, wrong phrasing on my side. When I said "connect," I knew that it’s the Trailblaze that opens the rails. What I meant by "connects" is how civilians or different people travel through the cosmos. They use IPC ships — some planets have their own ships, others don't, and some use public or private ones, which I guess belong to the IPC. Or like how they create work opportunities for someone, like that singer/performer from Belobog? I mean, they do different things for the cosmos. Not to mention all the things they produce, from entertainment to trade. And about colonization, I think it depends on the planet and how dire their situation was.

And I think... yes, they all basically use the rails, but it's not strictly necessary. Without them, ships can still fly, but doesn't it take a toll on them or damage them? Sorry, I saw something about this in-game but I don't remember the details. Also, it’s not the only way different factions can travel through the cosmos, right? Like, Acheron can go through Nihility by herself, and the Antimatter Legion or other factions have their own ways. Sorry, I don't remember exactly. But usually, it’s the Trailblaze, as you said. There are other options and ways, but they are just not as beneficial for the IPC.And about Jade and Cerydra's meeting — I think it will be short. Because when both people are that intelligent and don’t have major disagreements, they basically want the same thing. Meetings like that tend to be short. They can both see right through each other and know exactly who they are dealing with. Take for example Jade meeting with Otti. And how she handles it.

And Cerydra does want to rule. Like I mentioned, her primum mobile was Domination.

Her backstory is thus: She was a refugee orphan in her homeland, where the king ended up dying. A aristocrat ends up taking Cerydra in, and propping her up as the kings heir - specifically to use as a puppet for the aristocrats own ambitions.

Cerydra proceeds to grow up as a puppet princess.. not without learning. As she grows, she subtly gathers power for herself, including building her army and bringing more and more cities under her banner. Up until she fully overturns the regent who’d been using her, seizes power wholly for herself, and kills the guy.

From there on, she’s the Imperator, and when Tribios’ prophecy spreads, the reason she starts up the Flame-Chase is not to save the world, but because she’s interested in challenging and felling the gods.

She wears a mask of an unflinching ruler, and she certainly has her anxieties, her goals do end up shifting to becoming for Amphoreus, but it has always been her desire to be in power.

From a beggar child nearly frozen to death in the wilds, to a princess who was no better than a puppet, then to a commander who challenged gods... She personally elevated herself from pawn to player, only to sacrifice herself when the endgame demanded it...

I dont have Cerydra so i just copied from the wiki instead of a screenshot, but that’s from her final character story.

Her Primum Mobile is Dominance. She has always desired power, her whole purpose was to explore how Destruction could be reached through the ambition of the Order.

The one who rules out of necessity, and makes the choices that she must but doesnt want to is Aglaea.

Her Primum Mobile is Temperance - self-restraint. It was never in her nature nor desire to rule. But she was loyal to Cerydra and the Flame-Chase journey, so when Cerydra and Hysilens vanished, she took up the mantle of leading it, making the choices required to sustain it and bring the world into the next era, even as her humanity was slipping away, and her soul fracturing.

And oh, yeah, totally there’s opportunities that are brought about by the IPC. Theres plenty of people who travel via IPC ships, but they certainly arent the only ones who would offer those services. Most people who leave their worlds are doing it for a purpose, and while traveling through the IPC is absolutely a option, theres always others. And opportunities arent solely provided becaude of the IPC. Robin for example, doesnt have any ties to the IPC beyond her connection with the Oak Family, and Sundays situation. Her success as an Idol, as one of the most famous artists we know of, is entirely free of the IPCs influence. Ryusuke (both Asatsuke and the real one) didnt have ties to the IPC, and was also a perfectly successful artist. And the IPC does provide alot between trade, and production, and entertainment - and they’re often as hated for it as they are appreciated.

Honestly if anything I’d think one of the biggest bits about them that really connects the worlds is the framework theyve set up for communication interstellar-wise. Interstellar communication relies on the IPC’s framework, and asides from specifically set up lines, like that which the Trailblazers have with each other, or say the jade abacus Jing Yuan gave them, if you’re out of that range, its nearly impossible to get in contact with others.

And nah, their colonizing isnt a thing that depends on how dire the worlds situation is. I mean, we do get to see the IPC trying to basically slowly encroach on the Xianzhou Luofu in game, its a whole event. Aurum Alley was basically being gentrified- or rather the IPC was basically attempting to do so. It was attempting to erase the culture and history of Aurum Alley for the sake of profit.. particularly the IPCs. We know that the Xianzhou Yaoqing has basically fallen victim to this, with the IPC basically taking over more and more of it, erasing culture and getting the newer generations to join the IPC. That is in fact colonization.

And no, it is more or less necessary to use the Star Rail. The Star Rail isnt a physical rail, its basically just the connections and paths the Express created. Basically everyone travels via the Star Rail, because its too dangerous to do otherwise, if you have some capability to do so. Emanators have their own forms of travel normally, such as Acheron traveling through the void, the Antimatter Legion is led by the Lord Ravagers.

In theory, its possible to travel without using them, in the current era, but generally nobody will, because its just.. not safe. Nor logical.

Sorry, I saw your post about Amphoreus and Cerydra. I think people underestimate the possibility that Cerydra will make a deal with the IPC. As they say in the game, they are top players, controlling both the stadium and the game itself. Cerydra won’t make a deal unless it benefits either herself or Amphoreus.

People tend to forget that the IPC isn't just an "evil corporation" with divided departments; they are the ones who connect the entire cosmos.

Even Belobog used the IPC's help on more useful terms, thanks to Topaz.

Sure, it’s the Trailblaze that opens worlds and connects them, but it’s the IPC that helps them rebuild or recover after destruction and other major crises. It’s them who make interstellar travel possible. If Amphoreus wants to establish cosmic trade and a stable economy, they are the ones who will want to come to an agreement with the IPC.Sure, there are independent economies and planets that are not under IPC rule — as mentioned in the game and during one of the events — but they still make it work. They trade with the IPC and have other agreements and collaborations. I’m not an IPC fan, even if it seems that way, but these are just facts from the game.

Oh I absolutely believe Cerydra would make a deal with the IPC. For the sake of Amphoreus, she’d need to do so, because they literally control all trade.

Im not an IPC fan. Ill make jokes about them being evil capitalism villains, but i swear I do understand that the role they play in the story and universe is more complex than that. Still will call them capitalists and evil because they are that too tho.

Amphoreus is bound to make some kind of agreement with the IPC, but it will be one that is on their own terms. The IPC is bound to push for a deal that does benefit them, and try and encroach upon Amphoreus even with the deal. Thats whats not going to fly.

Hell, I can see Cerydra managing to sneak clauses in that directly defend Amphoreus from the IPC. It’s in character for her. She snuck clauses in to defend Amphoreus from Herta & the Express. And she was actually inclined to like them based off of what she’d been told/shown by Minirene.

Honestly I’d be willing to watch negotiations between Cerydra and the IPC.

People forget that Cerydra was also a war emperor, and did fight and lead the battles herself before Hysilens. She’s already read right through the IPC, because she knows what it takes to be as dominant as they are.

She’s not going to trust them, but she’s smart enough to know perfectly well she needs to use them if Amphoreus wants to properly spread amongst the stars.

Amphoreus does still have the backing of both the Astral Express, and 2(3, bc Ruan Mei would probably just go along with it if Herta & TB asked) Geniuses. The IPC is probably going to want to play it lightly with Amphoreus, for multiple reasons tbh, that being one of them.

Two things though: the IPC doesnt truly help with rebuilding worlds. Yes, they lend aid after disasters and help rebuild; but its really just them using the disaster to colonize the planet, and basically take control of it and its resources; or just put it deeply into debt, like with Belobog. Its help at a cost, and a steep one.

The Express doesnt aid as much with rebuilding after disasters, not because they dont want to, but because of their own ideal that in the end, the fate and future of a world should be determined by the efforts and hopes of its people. The IPC meanwhile sees each and every world as a way to profit. They’ve never cared about the inhabitants (theres outliers, such as Topaz). I mean just look at Gui’s backstory.

And then it’s not the IPC that interstellar travel can be attributed to. It never has been. Interstellar travel isnt possible because of the IPC. The Astral Express is. They arent just the ones connecting the worlds- without the Silver Rail, Interstellar travel cant really happen. Emanators were the first beings capable of traveling the stars. Following Akivili’s ascent, that became a different story. Without the Star Rail, interstellar travel is impossible. And the Star Rail depends wholly on the Express- both to be made and maintained. (Which is kinda why the universe started slowing down following the Train crashing, because there was nobody to maintain the Star Rail.)

The IPC’s trade routes depend wholly on the Star Rail, and they are well aware. They arent pleased about it. Hell, they’ve tried to not only buy the Express (from Akivili, not a Navigator to be clear) but they’ve also tried to replicate the Express. Failing miserably at both.

‘Lets replace the Trailblaze power with antimatter energy!!’ arent you guys supposed to be like. smart.

Thats why the Astral Express holds as much sway as it does. As much as the universe is forced to rely on the IPC, they’re also forced to rely on the Astral Express. And also why the IPC prefers to in general keep themselves on better terms with the Express. And also keeps trying to not-so-subtly subtly gain power over them.

But yeah, Cerydra is totally going to make a deal with the IPC. But I dont think the IPC is at all prepared to handle Cerydra. The woman’s primum mobile is dominance.

Genuinely I really want to see like, Jade and Cerydra negotiating. I’ll probably be hella lost until i get the time to read through everything all over again, but damn im sure it’d still be entertaining. hell, mb even bring in a new Stoneheart for it.
