Headcanons

Love at first sight

Thinks you’re badass, and cool, and awesome, and badass-

He does get scared of it sometimes though, and hides behind you

"Let’s use your dragon to burn down Hiccups hut! It’s the perfect prank!”

He probably will get paralyzed by it at lest once, either by annoying it, or just pure accident

Please take him on flights with it. Yeah, he has his own dragon, but he wants to rub it in is sisters face that he has a lover with a deadly badass dragon get away from his sister sometimes

Will try to use your dragon as an intimidation tactic when simply trying to get what he wants or when running into dragon hunters, and it works on Snotlout and maybe Fishlegs if he doesn’t know you that well

Ruffnut might also try to use your dragon as a intimidation tactic, but Tuffnut gets jealous and shuts it down quickly

He thinks your dragon is adorable too, especially sense Death Grippers are based of bloodhounds, aka dogs (and other animals too). Might try to pet it

This can end in two ways, your dragon and Tuffnut become best friends, or your dragon tolerates Tuffnut

One-shot

Tuffnut raced to the arena, tailing his sister. "No fair! When we got out the door you tripped me!” Tuffnut shouted. "You did that to me yesterday!” Ruffnut shouted back. Barf and Belch flew over the twins, earning offended gasps and groans from the two. "That’s cheating! This race is supposed to be on the ground!” Tuffnut called out, but the two headed dragon was already in the arena. This has been a habit of theirs for the last few days, they were trying to find out who’s the faster twin, but so far, none of them have won, because they keep cheating. They were racing especially fast today because a new dragon rider was being added to the group. Tuffnut was catching up to Ruffnut as they were about to enter the arena, but then she suddenly grabbed sand out of her pocket and threw it over her shoulder. “Pocket sand!” She shouted, as the sand hit Tuffnut’s eyes. “Ow, ow, ow!” Tuffnut stumbled into the arena and fell straight on his face. He heard Ruffnut and Snotlout laughing and a faint “Oo...” from Hiccup. "Cheater! She cheated! You all saw that right?!” Tuffnut exclaimed, standing up and whipping sand away from his eyes. "That means, I am still the fastest nu…” Tuffnut’s voice faded out as his eyes landed on the new dragon rider next to their deadly Death Gripper, you. "Accept it! I’m the fastest twin, and the smartest~” Ruffnut’s voice was background sound to Tuffnut right now, his eyes were stuck on you and your awesome Death Gripper. He snapped out of his haze when a fist connected with his shoulder. “Tuff! Did that tumble give you brain damage?” He could suddenly hear Ruffnut’s voice again. "What?! No! I have a very thick skull!” Tuffnut jumped back a bit. "Clearly…" Astrid mumbled loud enough for Tuffnut to hear, but Tuffnut decided to ignore her. Tuffnut strode stumbled up to you, trying to seem confident and charming. "Hey, I’m Tuffnut, I run this place." “Wha- no you don’t!” Hiccup yelped. "Yeah, that’s Hiccup, my jealous side kick." Tuffnut jumped a bit when your Death Gripper clicked at him. Hiccup pinched the bridge between his eyes. "Okay, first off, no one runs this place, we work as a team, second off, I am not your jealous side kick." Tuffnut was tugged away from you by Hiccup, but his eyes remained on you. "Everyone, this is [Name] and their dragon, [Your dragon’s name]. They’re the new addition of the dragon riders, so let’s make them feel welcome, okay?” "[Name]…” Tuffnut whispered to himself. Throughout the training, Tuffnut’s eyes remained on you, and he kept trying to start conversations with you, but would either get interrupted, fumble with his words, or you couldn’t hear him. At the end of the training session, Ruffnut was looking at him smugly, leaning against a wall. "Soo…the new dragon rider, huh?” Tuffnut looked down at his feet, his gaze breaking apart from you the first time. "What about them?" Ruffnut delivered a slap to his back, making Tuff yell slightly. "Go ask [preferred pronouns] out dummy!" Before Tuffnut could get a word out, his face collided with your chest, your Death Gripper hissed in disapproval, its tail standing up, making him immediately step back, his face redder and warmer than monstrous nightmare flames. "Oh! I am so sorry! That was my sister! My sister made me do that!” Tuffnut looked behind him, but Ruffnut was no longer there. Tuffnut slowly turned back to you. "So, uh- sorry about lying to you earlier, w-wanna go out?”

I remember hearing abt a not released httyd comic that Hiccup in takes revenge from Drago after discovering he’s still alive…now I have a few headcanons (that takes place in my Httyd au that i’m yet to write but don’t want to go with THW canon cos…everyone knows why):

•after that Hiccup brought Drago’s head with him and now in every chiefs meeting that happens on Berk that head will always be hung over/behind Hiccup’s chair, and now no one from the archipelago and around the northern markets dares to mess with Berk and its Chief.

Viggo lived and now in charge of the dragons edge, but for some reasons stays away as far as he could be from berk and humans in general, but Hiccup always sends new dragon riders to him to train and help saving/healing dragons.

Viggo have no Idea about the head thing, so when someday he visits Hiccup to help him out in the village and play some maces and talons he hears Zypher theorizing with some of her friends why her parents never lets her in the chiefs meetings that happens on Berk but takes her with them when they go to another Tribes, but Snoutlout’s son once witnessed the head as his father was returning it where they keep it so he told her and their friends and Viggo was in the background just regretting telling Hiccup that he’s more ruthless than what he realizs but also being a proud parent at the same time.

Eret is Hiccup’s best human friend and Dagur gets jealous of him

the volcano ascendent messed up Viggo’s tasting buds, there’s no others explanation why he likes to drink Yaknog and doesn’t gag

Hiccup once was coming back from a battle blooded, but saw Zypher waiting to welcome him with Astrid on one cliff, so he straight up hoped off Toothless hoping the sea water will wash some blood

Zypher is not allowed to fly with Dart until she’s 10 at least

when Griemle or whatever was his name claimed to be the most dangerous person Hiccup has ever met, he got a digger through his head mid monologue, and Viggo was capturing the last deathgripper when Hiccup was done with throwing Grimle’s body to sea dragons

I have no idea how did this did stray from the whole ‘Drago’s head’ headcanons thing but it’s okay.

Hiccup Haddock Modern AU College Headcanons

Here we goooo more modern AU college headcanons this time for Hiccup! Hope you all enjoy 🖤

Alright so he's definitely an engineering major there's just no other way around it

Which sucks because engineering majors are the worst

But it's okay cause he's the exception I promise!!1!1!

Aerospace engineering for sure

Maybe mechanical since not all schools offer aerospace

But if they did then for sure aerospace

That man wants to build a JET

More importantly he wants to fly one but building one is just as good

He'd probably be pretty picky about where he wants to intern and work at in the future

Would definitely consider the ethics of where he's interning at or working at

So no Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, etc.

Definitely the student that everyone thinks is effortlessly smart

In reality he's chugging coffee and red bulls to study for his exams all throughout the night

Has purple eyebags for sure from all the lack of sleep

He has a cat

Black cat ofc

It's Toothless duh

Roommates with Fishlegs

Used to room with Tuffnut and Snotlout too before they joined Dagur’s frat

It was literally so chaotic with them like it’s better this way trust me

He's a clean roommate along with Fishlegs

Hiccup considers healthy dinner to be instant ramen and a glass of liquid IV

I think Fishlegs (and Snotlout) are really good at cooking

Anytime Fishlegs cooks, he always sets some aside for Hiccup because he knows that boy isn't eating right

Hiccup doesn't drink or party a whole lot

He'll go if he's dragged against his will (by Dagur most of the time)

But he'll find a way to leave early

Big reader for sure

Has many books and all are annotated

Has his own journal that he uses for designing things

Some stuff is class related but other things are stuff he's designing for fun

Gets bashful if anyone looks at it

Not a big gym-goer but always says he will be someday

He just has to find the time

Dagur is always inviting him to go with him but he gets too busy

He’s also kinda embarrassed at the thought of going with Dagur and his frat friends

Just a tiny bit insecure about how much he’s able to lift compared to the other guys

I think he’d work as a barista at a coffee shop or a server at like BJ’s or something

He’s sociable and conventionally attractive so he’d be a good fit and the customers would like him

He’d also like being on his feet moving a lot

Definitely uses his breaks to study

He likes studying with Fishlegs the most since they bounce ideas off of each other all the time

Even though they’re not in the same major at all

He can put up with group studying with the entire group

But he has to parent the twins and Snotlout the whole time so its not the most convenient place for him to get some solid studying done

He likes studying with Astrid and Heather since they are both pretty calm and tend to stay focused on studying

He’d drive something smaller that gets the job done

I’m thinking like a brown Nissan Sentra

Maybe silver

I don’t think he’d be too involved in student orgs

He might join an org with Fishlegs that’s for something like Magic: The Gathering or chess

But he’s dedicated to the grind so he can’t dedicate too much time to student orgs

He would wear lots of greens, browns, and reds

I think he'd wear chucks but I'm a little biased sooo

In his wardrobe he'd have a bunch of plain colored t-shirts, blue jeans, brown jeans

He'd be a big fan of hoodies and flannels

He would totally layer short sleeve t-shirts with long sleeve t-shirts

I don't think he'd wear a lot of bracelets or necklaces

Maybe like a singular beaded bracelet that he throws into his outfits every once in awhile to keep things exciting

His desk in his apartment is covered inch to inch with his assignments, textbooks, pens/pencils, sticky notes, etc.

Same thing with the wall behind his desk

The rest of his room is pretty neat and clean

With the occasional flannel or hoodie thrown onto the floor

sometimes i like to think that if RoB/DoB and RTTE Hiccup met each other, they would both be a little unsettled by each other - younger Hiccup would be like "geez, I get really reckless, huh?" and probably roast his older self about it. Older Hiccup would be like "why is younger me so mean? ;-;"

just imagining young Hiccup watching older Hiccup jump off a cliff wearing clearly too-heavy wings and making some sardonic comment and older Hiccup being like "now listen here, you little shit!"

Funnily enough I kind of feel like RoB/DoB Hiccup and RTTE are like two sides of HTTYD 1 Hiccup's personality divided in half.

Also, I think it would be very funny to see different HTTYD characters react to their younger selves. I feel like Astrid especially would see her younger self and be shocked. Like "I wasn't that angry all the time, was I?" Everyone else would be like...YES ASTRID

Dagur would see his younger self and probably be partially embarrassed/ashamed about the villainy and partially overwhelmed by how much of a gremlin he was. Like if he found Gustav tiring, imagine how he'd react to his teenage self.

I’m thinking about how Hiccup and Viggo would brawl together. I don’t think we’ve seen them fight together as much; like the only scene I could think of is their last episode together— a whole sword fight. But that is more of Viggo needing to disarm Hiccup. (Now I’ve come to accept that Hiccup knows how to throw hands when he needs and wants to. Heavy on the Want, he seems too comfortable in fights in the series. Not a battle, but one on one fight.)

So I’m thinking of a fight FIGHT. Since Viggo is the bigger man and Hiccup is slightly shorter and slight in figure in comparison. I’m thinking that Hiccup would be swifter and be able to make stabs. Viggo giving one punch is enough to stop him completely.

Idk, how would you picture them fighting? Because I don’t think Hiccup is defenseless in one blow. What ways he might be able to pick up a fight with Viggo without Toothless? Or stay longer in a fight?

By the time Hiccup runs into Viggo he's become rather good at fighting without Toothless. He's done it before and has been training with Astrid. This definitely helps in one-on-one fights!

You're correct in saying that Viggo trying to disarm Hiccup long enough for them to talk would be a very different kind of fight than actually trying to injure or kill, because yes, he is bigger and stronger than Hiccup. He's also a lot more experienced. Hiccup is good, but he's not invulnerable.

We saw Viggo take on Heather in Maces and Talons part 1. We know Heather is an expert fighter and can move quickly, but once Viggo had his arms around her she was almost completely trapped and helpless. We see her struggling and he doesn't even break a sweat. I even personally think he let Heather go in that fight and that was the only reason she was able to break free. He simply wanted her to be able to break free. He also can overcome Astrid in battle, it seems, and that's with Stormfly present. I assume using Astrid as a human shield from Stormfly would definitely deter her dragon from doing anything violent though.

So, Hiccup could hold out in a fight against Viggo for a little bit, I think, but once Viggo gets a real blow in (or two) Hiccup would be down and out for the count, given his superior strength. Viggo would probably compliment him on how long he managed to stay armed and upright in a fight against him once he's got him down and defeated. And yes, there will be a sexual joke in there, because it's Viggo and Hiccup.
