The ads defo exaggerate his lines because in the actual game, he has the most vanilla route: cute boy is nice to you —> gets to know you better —> trials and tribulations—> realizes he can’t go on without being with you —> kiss scene.
No hate to vanilla routes! They’re a classic.
He’s a safe bet and is an all-around green flag. He’s a bit of a dummy, but that’s his charm.
He’s the easiest route to complete. It’s almost comical how quickly his affection for the player can stack up.
Despite being the literal icon of the game on the App Store, he’s actually quite underrated.
The fandom’s general consensus is that we all like him, but ride-or-dies are few and far between.
As the game’s unofficial main protagonist and the route the devs are obviously pushing you towards, he gets the most action scenes. A lot of the actual plot development is in his story.
His bad ending isn’t even that bad. He’s still incredibly nice, and your relationship status would be ambiguous at worst.
He’s the one whose “good ending CG” gets used in every marketing banner, even when the update has nothing to do with him.
There’s an urban legend that if you start the game on his route ten times in a row, he gets new dialogue where he says, “Déjà vu?”
Zack
Loser, puppy boy appeal. Need I say more?
He’s DOWN BAD for you.
He’s a bit wary in the beginning because he’s not the most friendly guy, but that doesn’t last long. He’s quick to warm up to you and will be fiercely protective and caring even before you start dating.
He’ll be the most obvious with his crush on you, even if he does his best to hide it.
His insecurities are the overarching theme of his story. He does his best to improve and be a better man for you, but he fails again and again, and yet he keeps getting up and trying just one more time, and another after that.
He’s the most popular dateable. As in, the players like him the most for themselves. His yumeships dominate his tag on social media.
He’s the fandom’s wife. His fan art always has him looking submissive, like in maid outfits or nurse costumes.
Slutted up on AO3 too, in all positions. He’s quite the all-rounder.
His bad ending makes the player look bad, but it is still implied that his door will never close for you if you choose to change your mind and come back to him.
Vasco
Earnest, simple-minded sweetheart.
Vasco likes you from the get-go, so his route progresses the quickest.
He’s planning your kids by day two, and tbh it can be a bit much for some players, so he’s not the most popular pick.
But he’s the purest-hearted guy in the gang. He wears his heart on his sleeve and will never lie to you.
His way of showing affection can be a bit unorthodox and you’d definitely need to teach him stuff about romance and how you want to be swept off your feet.
The execution can go either way, but you’ll never not feel his sincerity in everything he does.
His route is the shortest, but it’s definitely the sweetest.
His route can go really wrong, though. Vasco can easily misunderstand the things you say. The worst-case scenario is that he thinks you’re evil, and he’ll have to take you down.
In the good end, ya’ll already have kids and a happy home. In the bad end, he’s hunting your head for being the “bad guy”.
There are mid endings like the friend zone route, where he genuinely just thinks of you as a friend, and there’s no chance of it evolving into more. There’s also the ending where you date for a bit, but he breaks up with you because it’s for your “safety”.
His friendship route secretly unlocks one of the purest CGs in the game: him giving you a matching helmet.
Vin Jin
THEEE HARDEST ROUTE!
And it’s not rewarding either…
He’ll put you through the WRINGER for CRUMBS.
His route is the darkest, too. Like they have to put in trigger warnings before his flashbacks and cut scenes.
He’s rude asf when you first meet him and continues to be rude even if he’s interested in you. Almost everything you say decreases affection and no one gets his love ending on the first try, without consulting an online guide.
He’s funny asf though… has the best quips, especially in other routes. But in his own route, it’s just pain.
BUUUT he does stick around. He says the snarkiest things, but he’s never leaving your side like an annoying barnacle on a ship.
Polarizing in the fandom. People either hate him or would DIIEEE for him.
He gets the most slander on Reddit, but he also has more fans who bulk buy his merch.
His fans all have a savior complex.
Shit attitude aside, his route is incredibly well-written, and his good ending is pretty realistic, all things considered.
He’s not immediately sweet, but he shows that he’s willing to open up a bit more.
He has one good ending and three whole bad endings.
Jay
He’s the MOST popular character, full stop. Zack might be the most dateable, but Jay gets the most love because he’s highkey shipped with another male lead (we all know who this is)
His most popular tag is “x Daniel”, with “x Reader” as second.
But he’s you’re typical rich boyfriend. All your problems are solved because he’s rich and insanely sweet.
Probably has the blandest route icl and it’s not his fault. Most of his trauma is off-screened and you don’t get any elaboration on it because he doesn’t want to seem weak in your eyes (or the devs just didn’t care enough to add it).
The devs lowkey didn’t expect him, of all male leads, to be the most popular one… he might get an exclusive swimsuit DLC just to appease the fans.
He doesn’t really speak, so he’s big on actions. That also leaves a lot of his thoughts up to fans’ interpretation, so best believe that helps fuel his massive repertoire of fan content.
He doesn’t have a bad ending… It’s just one of the least romantic of the two endings he’s got.
Hudson
Done absolutely dirty by the devs.
He’s even excluded from a lot of the merch because the devs assume he won’t sell well.
He’s insanely hot, though, and rich with his self-made wealth.
He’s not actually that unpopular; his fans are just quiet. There’s ONE Hudson daily account and all his fans just like and retweet its posts, but they don’t make a lot of content themselves.
His route has the least main plot development, but it makes up for it with character introspection.
You learn a lot about Hudson, not because the story spoon-feeds you his backstory, but because of the sheer consistency of his actions. Compared to the others, he doesn’t change much for you. But instead, incorporates you into his working principles and philosophies. The Hudson you meet, and the Hudson the game ends with are the exact same; the sole difference is you.
He’s not the flashiest guy, but he’s an acquired taste.
His fans are a tight-knit group in one Discord server, and they all cheer at the crumbs he gets.
To a lot of players, they may not think much of his endings. But his endings, good or bad, are very meaningful conclusions to his character and his story with the player.
His route is the “most complete” in the sense that it wasn’t created to make you want more. All that’s left when you finish is a lingering courage that makes you want to stick to your guns a bit harder, just as Hudson would.
He’s the only one whose route epilogue directly acknowledges the player’s growth, and it’s played for both good and bad endings.
Bonus: UI Daniel
Secret route.
In his route, all the fragments of the plot are finally tied together to make the ultimate game conclusion.
In order to get his route, you need to unlock all of Daniel’s endings and at least one ending of each of the other leads.
Horniest fans known to man, oh my god.
He gets no advertising, though… to keep the mystery.
There’s a hidden stat called “moral standing” that only affects UI Daniel’s ending, but no one fully knows how it works.
His route is mostly plot, but at the end of it, you do get a little UI Daniel reveal.
Players are forced to pick between Daniel and UI Daniel, and if you pick UI… It’s the game’s overall bad ending.
But you do get a small cut scene at the end. In it, we see that he’s all quiet and distant, but he lets you do his makeup and touch his face with little to no violent reaction. So I guess he’s warming up to you?
What about situation where Allied catching Daniel and reader making out..........we need Daniel appreciation Daniel more.....

Due to the current life state, you and Daniel barely have time for each other. And honestly, he felt really really bad that you were neglected. He wanna make it up to you.
So when he invited you for a outdoor date night, you of course agree. The whole night went on just fine, but you're not stupid to notice his slight change of character. Fidgeting and always there to offer something as quick as possible.
You finally ask, resting a hand on his cheek, "Hey. What's wrong?"
He paused, meeting your eyes as he sighed. His shoulder slumped as he leaned into your touch. "I'm sorry I'm a bad boyfriend to you."
His confession caught you off guard, you can't help but laugh a bit. "Where does this come from?" But he didn't respond due to to your laughter which made your smile dropped. "Hey. Of course you're not. What makes you think that?" You gently pulled him to the side where you both can sit closer.
"I don't know. I feel like I've been neglecting you a lot for these past weeks and-" "What makes you think so?" You cut him off gently then continue, "I respect that you need some space for yourself too. I also don't wanna you feel like your attention is a demand."
He blinked, now that it's his turn to be surprised. He took your hand on his, holding it against his face, "No, no. Of course not. You have every right to demand it."
His face tightened with guilt as your faces are inches closer, "All I ever did was giving you excuses and you were pushed to the side. I'm sorry." His head lowered with sadness. You then raised it back up from his chin to meet his eyes again.
"You're overthinking it. And I understand you got a lot in your hands and I respect that and trust you." Your thumb brushed against his cheekbone, making him melt into your comfort you like a cat. He didn't deserve your kindness and patient. He would give you the world.
"Yes, I'm always worried." He winced at that but you reassure him, "But, you never really came back with any broken bones so I don't see any reason to question that."
He sighed in relief, "So we're cool?"
You pretend to think, "Hm, are we cool though? I can't tell."
"Huh??" You hold a laughed, looking at him sad puppy expression. So you give in, "We're cool, we're cool." You paused dramatically, "If...you give me a kiss or two."
"Yes, yes!" He nodded rapidly like an obedient puppy. Willing to do whatever to make it up to you. You're really going to break down one day if he keep acting like this.
So then at first you both exchanged soft playful pecks where your lips be pressing for three second or so or quick pecks just to mess with him. You could've sworn you heard his little whimper. As if longing for that long deep kiss you guys used to do all the time.
When you finally went into a proper kiss, he gently brought his hands up to cup your face. Tilting his head, his pressed lips against yours as you did the same to feel the connection you've been missing out on. His other hand moved to the back of your neck to pull you closer while yours went against his chest up to his shoulders, making him feel that shiver from the electric touch of yours.
After couple minutes you pulled away to catch your breath only for a moment so he can stare at your alluring eyes matching with his devoted ones, before you two allow yourself to dive back to taste each other. With him feeling daring little by little, he then gently pushed his body against yours using his hand to keep you balance. You immediately wrapped your arms around his neck for leverage without breaking the kiss.
This is exactly what you both needed. Soft moments with each other. No fighting or studying, just you and Daniel.
"Look at those sappy asses."

Who would've thought hiding in a bushes would fit five 6ft tall men together like sardins is a good idea.

"Ansan couples make out better than this." Hudson claimed bluntly, squatting between them.
"I should teach you guys a lesson for invading Daniel and (Name)'s privacy." Vasco squeezed himself between the leaves.
Vin growled, "You're a hypocrite too for tagging along." "I don't wanna give away our presences and ruin their moment." Vasco argued. Vin turned to Hudson, "And can you fucking stop pinching me?"
The blond only narrows his eyes, "Nobody's doing that." Vin hissed again, feeling that slight pain. He pushed Hudson's off. Surprised, Hudson pushed him back but harder. The bushes shakes violently as the two fought, slowly becoming aggressive.
"Oi! Stop!" Zack panicked. At this point they're already been caught spying on you both.
Jay's face lit up as he pointed a huge ant nest that Vin was stepping on, resulting the armies to crawl up Vin's body and bites him. He stood up from the bush finally and started yelping, slapping his bodies rapidly to swipe away the ants. "Get them off, get them off!!"
"Stand still." Hudson readied his fists and started throwing punches towards V- uh the ants! The Cheonliang master didn't like that. "What the fuck!? What are you hitting exactly!?" "The ants."
He was in fact punching everywhere but the ants. Zack and Vasco helped them...by merely observing from the side knowing they already been caught but acted oblivious as if they weren't there to spy on you two, and keep their focus on the situati-ants.
Oh and, you and Daniel already stopped making out for some time. Obviously they weren't subtle but you were glad it's just Daniel's friend. With the chaos still happening you both just sort of watch the show weirdly. Jay waved towards you two. You both waved back in return. Probably it's better to do things like this in private next time.

Eugene sprang back, while both of your faces burned red.
He whipped around, voice sharp. "What is it?"
They muttered excuses and bolted, but the damage was done. The heat lingered, though, your cheeks flushed as Eugene rubbed the back of his neck, avoiding your eyes.
"That was... erm close" he said, voice low, a shy smile tugging at his lips. You reached out, squeezing his hand. Yeah, it was. And next time, no one's interrupting.
SEONGJI YUK
The kitchen counter was painted with sugar syrup and fruit peelings, the tanghulu cooling in neat rows as the syrup's glossy shine caught the afternoon light. Seongji turned the tanghulus his eyebrows scrunched in concentration. His sleeves were rolled up, and he hummed a song that you had made him listen a few days ago... You'd joined in to help, the two of you bumping elbows and sharing quiet laughs over the mess.
"Here, taste this," he said, offering you a skewer, then taking a bite of his own.
A strand of syrup clung to his cheek, sparkling like gold.
Without a second thought, you leaned across the counter and licked it off, the sweetness bursting on your tongue mixed with the warmth of his skin. Seongji froze, eyes widening in shock, a deep blush flooding his face from collar to ears.
You pulled back just enough to meet his stunned gaze, then smiled slow and teasing, your hand sliding up to trace the line of his neck, fingers curling into his hair. He blinked, breath hitching, but the pull was too strong. You tugged him closer, capturing his lips in a real kiss. His hands found your waist after a beat of hesitation, gripping like he never wanted to let go.
TAESOO MA
The night sky was sprawling endlessly above you and Taesoo as you lay side by side on a blanket atop Taesoo's favourite mountain. The air was cool and breezy, and everything smelt like pine. He'd been opening up more than usual, voice steady as he traced constellations with his finger.
"Oh, see that? That's a lover pair." he said, eyes on the heavens.
"A lover pair?"
"Yeah. Perseus and Andromeda... legend says that they were so in love that they were immortalized in the stars beside each other."
You turned to him, his words warming your chest.
"I'll be there always too, Taesoo. No matter what." His gaze shifted to you. Laughing, cooking, quiet nights and all the fighting.... he couldn't imagine any of it without you anymore. The distance he'd kept, the walls, they crumbled right there.
"After all this time?" he asked softly, rolling onto his side.
"Always," you replied, voice sure and quiet.
He closed the gap, his lips brushing yours in a kiss that felt like coming home – gentle at first, then deepening. His hand cupped your cheek, his thumb tracing your skin. When he pulled back, forehead resting against yours, he smiled, rare and full.
"Always," he echoed.
HUDSON AHN
The night air in Ansan hung heavy with the scent of rain-soaked streets. Hudson's duffel bag sat at his feet, packed for the early train to Seoul where Allied waited for him for some mission. You'd walked him to the station, your heart racing with the fear that this goodbye might be the last one. He stood tall, his poker face intact
You couldn't hold it in anymore. Stepping close, you grabbed his jacket collar and pulled him down, pressing your lips to his in a desperate, trembling kiss. It started soft but tasting salty but it sweetened as his hands hesitated then settled on your arms, steadying you both.
You broke away first.
"I couldn't let you go without doing that."
His gaze held yours, silent as ever, but something shifted deep inside him. You turned and walked back toward the lights, tears flowing uncontrollably.
Hudson didn't move. He didn't even call out. Instead, he watched you go, a single tear slipping down his cheek He brushed it away roughly, jaw clenching. For the first time, the sun of Ansan felt like he had an orbit to return to. And that changed everything.
