animal hospital hcs ₍^. .^₎⟆ — ft. itoshi rin, nagi seishiro, vivien hugo

playing animal hospital with rin is an experience… as an avid fan of everything horror he was tempted by the idea of catching anomalies when you first explained the game to him. however, the slow start of the game bored him to death. you on the other hand was already deeply immersed in playing pretend doctor, a sight which might’ve ticked him off a bit, shouldn’t you be focusing on him instead? it wasn’t until the beginning of shift 3, when the first few anomalies started showing up that he actually became interested in the game. it got to a point where he’d let in a bunch of anomalies while you were running around curing patients and letting them kill you.

“your fault,” rin sticks his tongue out, “you should’ve paid more attention.” (to him)

nagi is a animal hospital veteran. he’s used to playing solo runs and knows the ins and outs of the game like the back of his hand, so when you two eventually play together you’re left standing there at the reception desk while everything, checking in patients, taking photos, making sure they’re not anomalies, curing them, giving them surgery and what more is left up to nagi — not because you don’t know how to play the game, but because nagi’s just built different. all you can do is the occasional brewing of the coffee which nagi ends up chugging down himself.

“what.” nagi blankly stares at you. “i need it more than you do.”

hugo is an interesting case, because unlike rin, who lets anomalies in because he’s a sick fuck. hugo instead lets them in because he genuinely believes everybody deserves healthcare, even twisted anomalies who try to kill him. funny thing is that he draws the line at barney — the serial killer who keeps asking for coffee. according to him he’s cutting people’s destinies short and that’s something hugo can’t stand behind (but monsters who keep on killing you two are somehow fine).

hugo repeatedly taps on his screen, pointing at the obvious anomaly. “see this guy? he just needs my help and then he’ll be fine. i’m sure he won’t kill us.” (sure sure buddy…)

cue to hugo getting brutally mauled the next second by said anomaly.

keep on loving you / hugo vivian headcanons

just some relationship headcanons with hugo, he's been living rent free in my mind recently. hopefully none of these are insanely inaccurate to his character. (also, yes, title is a cas reference)

He has a strange fixation with your heartbeat, it's not particularly obvious at first, but after a while you can't help but notice how his fingers always linger on the pulse of your wrist. (When you get deeper into the relationship and the two of you become more comfortable with one another, you'll find that he likes to rest his head on your chest, properly listening to your heartbeat.)

"You're doing that thing again," you murmured, amusement laced into your tone.

"What thing?" he queried in response, tracing feathery circles on the pulse of your wrist.

"The thing you do with my wrist all the time."

He hummed briefly in thought, "It's because your heartbeat is soothing."

The two of you frequently go out on book dates. Local libraries, shops, it doesn't really matter, so long as Hugo's wearing a mask anyways. During these, there's a common trend of you guys getting into light hearted debates, sharing opinions and thoughts about books you wouldn't really do with anyone else.

On the topic of books, he enjoys annotating them a lot to keep his thoughts organised, so whenever you borrow one of his novels, you feel like you're having a little peek into his mind between the pages.

He's also a chronic info dumper, whenever the topic of something that he enjoyed reading comes up, he'll be talking about it to you for hours on end. Not to say you mind though, you find it very endearing whenever he does so. (Also when he uses onomatopoeia to emphasis certain points.)

He likes to maintain physical contact a lot. Keeping you close, holding your hand in public, wrapping his arm around your waist, standing right behind you before resting his head on your shoulder. It's never really sexual, just intimate, steady, warm. He also really likes showering with you, no proper explanation as to why.

Hugo practically never gets visibly flustered, and despite your best efforts, you've never managed to get more than a small 'oh' or slow, unsure blink. But, truthfully, he does get internally bashful every time you try something.

He'd never willingly say it to you, primarily because he doesn't think it's necessary, but he plans things out meticulously. Valentines, your birthday, Christmas, etc. He thinks about it fairly often when they roll around, and always spoils you with the best gifts, along with things you'd mentioned offhandedly only once or twice. Yeah, he really listens when you talk.

Hugo headcanons 1!

Hugo has a nightmare problem, but not from any sort of træuma or anything, he just has a lot of random nightmares that tend to freak him out.

Dadsona will tell him one night while they are out at trivia. The game just finished and they are both picking off the final bits of cheese and crackers. Dadsona would be extremely nervous but he cares about Hugo a lot and believes he deserves to know. I think Hugo wouldn’t have an extensive knowledge about asexual’s so curiosity would play in a factor while he listens to Dadsona explain. Seeing how anxious Dadsona is while he is explain as much as he can, Hugo will smile. The thought of knowing that Dadsona trust him to share something so personal and close to Dadsona’s heart fills him with joy. He would understand completely and respect this about Dadsona. He leaves a space open, telling Dadsona if he ever wants to try anything Hugo was there to help but never says anything more on the subject after that.

+10 Dad Points if Hugo and Dadsona tell Ernest. Ernest becomes very protective over Dadsona and will fight anyone who makes fun of him.

Headcanon for Hugo accidentally harming Dadsona

Here you are Anon!Hugo would always like to be aware of Dadsona’s limits. Whether its with sex, rough housing, or even during a conversation. He likes to pick up the hints and  keys that the human body will signal for pain or pleasure. As a disclaimer, I don’t think Hugo would ever harm Dadsona on purpose without consent or limitations/watch words in place. But life does happen and accidents are made. I think they would bump into each other a lot after Dadsona or Hugo moves into the other home. Both would be getting used to each other constant presence in the house. I see Hugo making dinner, lost in thought, maybe listening closely the lyrics of a favorite song. He walks over to pantry when Whamp! Dadsona is on the other side of the door, holding his forehead. Hugo immediately is apologizing and asking if Dadsona is okay and Dadsona kinda shakes it off with a big smile, though it does really hurt and kinda biting back tears. Hugo would rush to get an ice pack and forcefully keep it on Dadsona’s forehead.

“Babe, I’m alright, I swear- ah! That’s cold!”

Hugo and Dadsona will laugh it off and after some kisses. Dadsona would feel much better, besides the apparent red bump on his head. Hugo would feel very bad for a while. Probably for as long as the bump is there. A lot of kisses and breakfast in bed sort of thing. He already does that already but even more so. To extreme length to make sure Dadsona is comfortable and not upset with him. Even states he will call in sick to stay with Dadsona, but Dadsona wont have it and tells him to stop worrying. He is fine and that it is just a bump. While at work Hugo texts Dadsona during passing periods to check up on him. Dadsona appreciates it but ensures Hugo that he is fine and there are no hard feelings. As soon as they are both home Hugo is hugging and snuggling Dadsona till the end of the evening. Hugo will cook his favorite meal, maybe take him out that night. Just treat him special, fuss a lot and demand a lot of icing and medicine.

Now for a mortal wound I see Hugo being very calm and straight forward. Lets say he accidentally burns him with a hot pan, or during rough housing Dadsona pulls a muscle. He would stay collected, because he knows if he doesn’t nothing will get done. His panic would lead to Dadsona being even more scared, so he has to stay strong for Dadsona. He directs Dadsona. “Breath. Look at me. Listen to me. Your going to be okay. I got you. I love you. ” reassuring him over and over until he is certain Dadsona is stable what ever the condition is. After he knew everything was fine and Dadsona was healing, then he would break down with apologizes and heavy tears. Crying uncontrollably, saying he cant afford to loose him, he loves him to much. They would lay together, Hugo holding Dadsona close as the tears subside and the fall to sleep.

Hugo would certainly be surprised at first. Curious as to why his dream lead to something so lewd. What about sleepy Hugo head canons? Does he sleep spread eagle or curled up? Does he fall asleep often on the couch or at his desk while he's marking homework? Does he get grumpy when he's tired?

Hugo is a cuddler, but he’s not aggressive about it. He’ll latch onto Dadsona and nuzzle him, but when Dadsona gets up, Hugo will let go and flip onto his back, taking up as much space as possible. He also has a habit of waking up with his shirt riding up and his tum sticking out. He snores but not consistently, the kind of snoring where he’s normally quiet but then all of a sudden there’s a sCCHHOOOCHSV, smacking his lips and grumbling before going back to his peaceful slumber.

Sometimes, while watching historical documentaries or bad horror movies, he’ll fall asleep on the couch, his head leaning back and his mouth wide open. Ernest sometimes likes to mess with him by putting random things in his mouth; a dog toy, a banana, a muffin. Dadsona sometimes joins in and they snicker, one of their few bonding moments, 

He has been known to fall asleep at his desk while grading during long nights, waking up with his hair sticking up on one side, his glasses lopsided and his mouth dry. Sometimes Dadsona will softly wake him up, giving him a cup of tea and sitting by him, crooning and brushing his hair back, helping him either work or relax with shoulder massages, or just comforting him with his presence.

Sometimes he gets grumpy and curmudgeonly, mumbling under his breath, complaining about kids doing this or that, other teachers breathing down his neck, parents bitching about their ‘special snowflake’ not getting straight A’s and it’s all his fault. He might close cabinets a bit too roughly, slam his papers down, might be a bit curt when speaking to Dadsona. But Dadsona wouldn’t take it personally, he understands how stressful it can be being a teacher, yet Dadsona also won’t let him get away with it. He’d call attention to Hugo and his behavior, saying he’s home now and it’s ok to relax. Hugo would sigh, saying that Dadsona is right and he’s sorry, no excuse he shouldn’t be rude even after a long stressful day. They hug and smooch, and Dadsona helps him relax, listening to Hugo vent while making him food, giving him loving smooches, playing with his hair and massaging him.
