so i’m a big fraud who started publishing the first english language omg fic before actually finishing the show (because dyslexia + depression brain + subtitles = it requires a lot of mental effort to watch non-english language shows) so I’m only just now getting to plot points y’all have known about forever but it turns out my hot takes based on the early episodes were absolutely god-tier

But seriously, episodes 34-36 are confirming all my headcanons.

They give Huli a female love interest and he not only shows 0 interest in her, he immediately fucks of to go flirt with the bloody emperor of song instead like a totally straight man would do. (but on the plus side i’m pretty sure the emperor was flirting back, imperial concubine huli is clearly endgame now)

And Zhao doesn’t actually say the words ‘getting pregnant would make my enby trans ass dysphoric as hell’, but she does talk about how she hates the idea of being pregnant, would prefer to have have been born with male anatomy, and wishes yujin could get pregnant instead. And then suggests taking the household maids to fight bandits as a preferable option to talking about cisheteronormativity. which is a fucking mood, honestly.
