If you could switch lives for one day with any Tumblr, who would it be? Why?

1. What was your favorite band when you were 15? The Cure. Would you like me to reenact some music videos? I totally can.

2. When was the last time you told someone you needed them? Implicitly - like “Can you come here and do this for me?” - today, each of the kids, multiple times. Explicitly - as a declaration of friendship, caring, etc. - probably within the last 4-5 days?

3) If you could quit your job and take on another profession, what would it be (without having been to school or trained for it. You will magically gain the knowledge)? I’d be a novelist.

4) Most embarrassing moment in the last 5 years. I’m kind of happy that I can’t think of one right off the top of my head. That’s progress! A few years ago, I was kissing someone in his work place after hours and the secretary walked in. And the lights were off. So we couldn’t have looked guiltier. She was very gracious about it.

5) Ebooks or real books? I like both. I love real books - I prefer them, but I also love that someone can recommend a book to me at 9pm and I can download it and start it that night.

6) What kind of traditions did your family have when you were a child? (i.e. camping every summer, playing games every Saturday night). Fondue dinner Saturday nights sitting on the floor around the coffee table.

7) Boxers or Briefs? Boy shorts or Thongs? None of the above. Hipsters or bikinis. If I feel like I won’t be self-conscious about it, nothing. But that’s pretty rare.

8) The furthest from home that you’ve ever been. I’m not sure what’s farther from Buffalo: Vancouver, Anaheim, or St Lucia.

Three Positive Things

The delightful mrstu tagged me to say three positive things about today: 1) We found our dog, we think. Her name is Margie, she's a 7 year old very timid but incredibly sweet and quiet beagle. We get her on Saturday when my son meets her, but she's on hold for us. The girls were reluctant to even get her out of her kennel but I said I had a feeling and it turned out right. 2) After finding our newest addition, we were starving and it was 2pm and we were in an area we weren't familiar with. There was what appeared to be a complete hole on the wall pizza place down the road. The girls again were hesitant but I said, let's try it, and we walked out 45 minutes later having discovered the secret best pizza in Western New York. 3) There was much hemming and hawing about tonight's festivities. In our town, we celebrate the 4th on the 3rd. But I didn't push, I just let things unfold, and a perfect compromise presented itself. Home from the parade now, off to fireworks in a bit. I believe in spiritual activity- I believe there are things we can't understand and paranormal energies we can't fully comprehend...

But specifically in ghosts? I don't know. Maybe. I guess. Kind of? I really don't think about that a whole lot!
