Link is eye-in' up that keyblade like it's a full course meal. Well, it probably couldn't be, but that doesn't make him want it any less. But he doesn't make a habit out of stealing things (unless he beats them fair and square for it), so he will do the next best thing.

Pointing and bluntly asking, ❝ Can I have that? ❞

Another bundle of lizard men down! Watching as their bodies turn into these crimson, murky husks of oblivion makes him morbidly curious. The sight in itself almost draws too close to a trademark enemy of his own. That said! It didn't escalate to the grounds of needing to be overly concerned.

This world? It was strong. The light that kisses its high peaks to its deepest seas held a tender brand of care for it.

What serves as the bizarre outlier would be the man approaches him. Initially he's put off but such an intense stare, as if from a solitary glance, they've managed to conjure all knowledge related to him! Given these divine, witchy and overall mysterious entities that's becoming his company now days? Sora would genuinely not be surprised.

Yet the Key held between them is buzzing with a clear sense of amusement. Oh did it feel nice to be desired! And not to mention, it knows it's partner wielder's type of personality to the T!

Sora on the other hand, blinked in abrupt confusion and a burgeoning sense of respect for that level of forwardness. "Was pretty cool, huh? I mean why not go n' share the joy?"

"Guess it's outta my hands now!"

And just like that, the fabled Keyblade finds itself within the hands of another. From a singular touch, it'd hold that same majesty as another sacred blade that currently rests within this land. It was as if hope itself flocked to life and limb, swimming through Link's entire frame as a blessing before that initial weight goes weightless. Soon, smatterings of light swimming around it's form as it dissolves entirely.

Back into Sora's hand!

Only then would it be given a spin, and find itself tucked securely on his shoulders. "Is what I would say. But, y'ever had a sword that's pretty picky in who it sticks by? This happens to be one of those cases."

He'd run his fingers through the angel's hair, trying to mirror the motions that had been given to him now and then. He liked the way his scalp tingled when Pit did it, could he give the same sensation in return?

Curious eyes roam, and his hands follow... trailing neck. Caressing shoulder and spine... and then... his fingers inch towards that forbidden place;

his wing.

Even the mightiest of Angels need rest, and Pit was no stranger to the discomforts of overdoing it. He pushed himself beyond his limits this time, over-exerting himself well beyond the five-minute mark of his flight power. His wings ached, and his muscles burned, but his friend's safety was worth every moment of strain. However, as always, Pit couldn't resist milking the situation, reminding Link, the Hero of the Wild, a fearless warrior with a heart of gold and a close friend, of his hard work and enjoying being pampered for a little while. Despite the strain, their friendship's safety and shared adventures made Pit feel secure and guilty.

He also couldn't resist giving Link a hard time, all in good fun.

As they sat within the shelter of the oversized skull, once inhabited by low-ranking Bokoblins, Pit was surrounded by his companions' joyous laughter and amusing conversations. The warmth of their camaraderie was palpable and infectious, lifting Pit's spirits despite his own exhaustion. His eyelids grew heavier and heavier, weighed down by the day's adventures. Yet, the joy in their interactions uplifted him, making him feel lighter and more at peace. Soon, the gentle embrace of sleep enveloped him, carrying him into a realm of peaceful dreams.

Unaware of the world outside, even when it came to Link's innocent, gentle touches, starting from the top of his messy, wild chestnut locks down to the softness of his neck and dangerously closer to his majestic ivory wings. Link's curiosity overrules the one command Captain Pit established since beginning their journey… Do NOT touch his wings unless permitted. Yet Link never was one to really follow the rules, was he? At least, not like he used to one hundred years ago. The danger of his disobedience looms, and tension, like a taut string, lingers the closer those slender digits draw.

As fast as an archer firing one arrow after another, Pit's hand swiftly grabs Link's wrist, as if he had sensed the amnesiac warrior's intention from a mile away. This wasn't the first time Pit had found himself in such a situation, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. The Captain's Caribbean blue eyes met Link's, which widened in surprise. A small, muffled chuckle escaped from Pit as he lifted his head, his smirk revealing a sense of amusement and confidence. In an inviting, charismatic tone, he replied to Link, the corners of his lips curling upwards as he spoke.

"If you want to touch me so badly-icus, all you gotta do is ask, Hero."

Tugging on Link's wrist, Pit met Link halfway, closing the distance between them. As they drew nearer, Pit could feel the warmth of Link's breath mingling with his own. Their lips finally touched, and Pit savored the softness of Link's lips as they shared a tender, lingering kiss.

Megara feels ill if she stares too long, and so she looks away, almost gagging. Hinox guts are supposed to medicinal, or something, but all she can think about is how revolting it all is.

But the hero with the sword had truly been fearless; relentless. Impressive, even. Taking down such a horrible, huge monster is not unimpressive. If only it hadn't been quite so repugnant to watch.

It was a voice very much like hers; pitched in concern, like hers, all eloquent rolls and soft edges, like hers. So very, very close to her.

"Oh, Link..."

Even those hands, slender and soft and sweet, were a near perfect mimicry. They brushed back strands of his hair and ghosted over fresh wounds, just as she would do in throws of fretting—are you hurt, Link? Let me see, Link—

So very close to her, but Princess Zelda, the real Princess Zelda, never once straddled herself atop his lap.

Well. A puppet could take a few liberties here and there.

She hushed him, turned his chin to her while his weakened body slumped back, leaned down closer to the spot on his chest where the malice rotted his flesh.

"Didn't I tell you?" But she sounded so gentle, so worried, so loving, so kind, so close to her whilst being so close to him, "As brave as you are, that does not make you immortal."

Her fingernails dug into the wounds edges until it made each nerve scream and burn anew.

"Does it hurt?" Tilted brows, dipped lips, such compassionate eyes. "What if I..."

The skin tore as she pulled and clawed.

"Shhh," the hushing returned, lips against his forehead, fingers in his hair, "It's alright. It's alright..."

"I'm here..."

Until new blood escaped through fresh slits, wetting her delicate fingers, staining the white of her gown as her lips moved to his temple, his cheek, grazing the edge of his lips.

"I'm here," she said, and with those two words, the likeness of her voice was gone, replaced with scratching and heat and a thick layer of amusement that seeped into Link's muffled scream as she captured his mouth against hers, the tear of his wound spreading like a thin piece of parchment.

She tossed back her head, and laughed.

"I like this." Link, a man of few words, finds himself in a highly complex situation he's unaware of, the whole story unknown. Like a hero, his arms wrap around Pit's waist, drawing him close to those majestic ivory wings. Pit finds himself in a paradox-undeserving warmth and security in Link's embrace, yet a sensation of a thousand daggers pricking his damaged nerves and scar tissue. He endures the pain for the sake of his touch-depraved friend, finding solace in their relationship. But his heart is not at peace, twisted with guilt and ache.

"Yeah? Me too, Philtatos... Hey Link, do you ever..."

He paused for a moment, searching for the right words to say. Like the calm sea on a sunny day, the Caribbean blues of his eyes stared down at the grass beneath them. Pit's brows furrowed as he exhaled heavily. He swallowed the lump down his throat, licking his lips, ready to speak some truths, but before he could let a word out, the sound of soft snoring could be heard. Exhaustion had finally taken Link.

"I've made you so happy and yet so sad... Which should I be more sorry for, Philtatos?"

He confesses upon deaf ears... He knew it was a coward's way, and for that, Pit was ashamed.

"I'll remind you, I saw you as a friend, but now we're done."

He says, as he unsheathes his weapon. The light in his eye is not one of that spirited mirth they'd known, so long ago... rather, a fire that cannot be tamed.

He is angry.

As Link's memories flooded back, Pit felt his heart pounding so intensely that it seemed like it might burst. However, when he witnessed the enraged knight drawing his sword, it caused Pit's heart to skip a beat, his breath to hitch, and his nerves to steel in preparation. He had always known that this day would come when everything from the past would catch up with them. Link, at that moment, seemed fully justified in drawing the legendary sword that seals the darkness.

"One day, you'll hear what I'm saying... One day, you might understand..."

Perhaps to Link, the Angel was spewing out more excuses or trying to appear wise, and although Pit knew this was the last thing Link wanted to hear, he was telling the truth. However, Kid Icarus was neither a coward nor one to deny a challenge, especially from a warrior who was justified in using a language only another warrior could understand. Yet that word, the one Pit knew he didn't deserve to be called anymore. It stung so profoundly, so painfully in his guilty heart.

... Friend...

Without the divine blessing of Palutena, Pit fled from Skyworld and renounced his Captain title. He found himself facing Link, feeling the weight of being the one who had turned on his friends and all of Hyrule. The sky above was a deep midnight blue, a stark contrast against Hyrule's lush greenery, intensifying the situation's gravity. Without any divine will to rely on, Pit had no weapon, no armor, nothing but his wits and skills. He raised his fists, preparing to face Link and waiting for him to make the first move. Uncertain of how the encounter would unfold, Pit found himself reflecting on his actions and, despite not expecting it to make a difference, he mustered the words, "…I'm sorry, Link… for all of it."
