i honestly dont need a plot or drama i just want to be a fly on their wall and them to be happy and domestic
yessssss i'm so freaking emo about them.
i love the fics that have ilya and/or shane being menaces and flirting all over the internet. they are fun explorations, but def not their reality
they've come out of years of hiding. i think shane is going to still be working to let go of his fear, but hopefully we'll get to see him loosen up and relax as his body realizes that he doesn't have to Hide anymore
and ilya is going to always look to shane to check his comfort before posting anything. he may test the waters with comments to the press, making easy comments about shane, proud. i can see him pushing his luck Every So Slightly because this is how he and shane ARE. ilya is forever a ragebaiter, even with his husband, but he would never do anything that he thinks would truly make shane truly embarrassed or uncomfortable
they wouldn't be as bold as in fic, but i hope we see them sharing bits and pieces. official photos of them on the ice together after a game. the occasional instagram story from home. sometimes answering the questions about 'how is it playing on a team with your husband' to say 'it's amazing. we challenge each other and make each other better on and off the ice' and 'it is nice to be in the same place and have time together'
with a podcast being at the center of the conflict in unrivaled, i think we will see quite a lot of conversation around social media, and the way they present themselves and what they share publicly/on social media will almost surely be discussed.
i wanna see them finding their offline balance together with the centaurs, starting with a more professional "hollander" and "rozanov" and not sitting together too much or talking too much, then over time becoming comfortable showing their heart eyes, laying a soft hand on the other and gently flirting/teasing around the team. having the team encourage and embrace shane and ilya as individuals AND as husbands. bc they love their captain and their shane and want them to be happy and themselves. plus those two are very fun to tease.
i think it'll be the main interpersonal conflict/conversation between shane and ilya in their next chapter, and one that is very manageable and low-angst and domestic. i hope to see them work at it together. and i think we will.
