Hux’s body seems lifeless - comatose - and she knows it’s been that way for three years. But when she enters his mind, she finds him very much alive, even if in his subconscious it’s more of a nightmare than a dream. Unaware she’s even a real person, he opens up to her, and Rey finds herself longing for the companionship of the man she’s supposed to interrogate..

Summary: Playing piano again brings back plenty of memories from Hux's past, some he wishes he didn't remember.

Every terrible memory came back the moment the piano entered their apartment. Rey clapped with giddy joy at the prospect of hearing him play, but she had no idea about every strike his knuckles took for every wrong note he played, all the times Brendol or Maratelle smacked him upside the head for playing anything other than an original composition or the classical greats.

Then his mother got involved in his interests and, as always, Brendol stopped caring.

“Tage,” she whispered. He woke, but not as abruptly as usual. When he gave a confused face, Rey pointed toward the sky. “Look up.” She’d seen meteor showers on Jakku, of course, But there was something about having someone else here with her that seemed to make the moment all the more special. “Make a wish,” he murmured. Maybe it sounded a touch cynical, but Rey closed her eyes and made one anyway. It was for a million different things, but m a i n l y she hoped that when she vouched for Hux, the Resistance believed her, and allowed him to return back to the First Order, if he wanted. [x]
