Ok but the thing that really makes me go feral over the ‘He loved you’ confession is the fact that this is was told by Hydra!Cap (i.e. someone who knows Steve's thoughts, but is NOT Steve). This implies that Steve kept his love for Tony hidden all this time… because… because… because?????? I mean, you definitely can love someone as a friend, but you wouldn’t really keep that a secret from them????? So why did Steve keep him loving Tony as a secret why did he why did he ajssjdjdhd was it because you loved Tony romantically just TELL ME

"Please don't do this." A sob escaoes your lips. "Please! Please," the tears were flowing down your cheeks nonstop.

"Give me a good reason why." Blue eyes bore into your soul. Those same blue eyes which used to hold so much love and warmth, now are hard and cold.

"You love me," you whispered weakly, the hand on your throat tightening even more.

"I used to." His voice was harsh and bitter. More tears started cascading down your face.

"Y-your not in," the grip on your throat loosened up a little bit. You coughed, trying to get some air in your burning lungs. "You're not in your right mind."

He growled, ferocious and angry. Another hand hand wrapped around your throat. You felt your vision slowly getting black. This is it. Or so you thought.

The hands released you, dropping you to the floor. You gasped for air, your vision coming back. Slowly you looked up at him. His gaze was still hard but fixated on you.

"I'm more in control of my mind than you think," he spat. He pulled out a gun from his holster, cocking it before aiming it at you.

"Hydra is control of your mind! Please don't do this!" You tried standing up, tried reaching for the gun, anything! But you couldn't, you were glued to the spot.

Never in a million years did you think you'd die at the hands of the man you loved.

"Steve, please." You begged one last time. But to no avail.

A shot rang throughout the entire apartment. The wall and floor coating in crimson red.

A man walked up behind Steve and placed a hand on his shoulder

"Good job soldat. Now no more distractions, you have another target." With that the man left, leaving Steve standing in front of your life less body.

There was a flicker of something is his chest. Your tearful eyes embedded in his mind and your pleads echoed in his ears. He shook his head, trying to get rid of it.

He lowered himself to one knee, the motion too familiar to his body. Then he saw a ring on your finger. And everything clicked.
