In winter it is often the details that attract attention, here it was the old flower bracts and peeling bark of Hydrangea aspera (rough-leaved hydrangea). This deciduous shrub grows up to 3m tall, with softly hairy leaves up to 25cm long. In late summer the plant produces flat flowering heads with purple fertile flowers surrounded by showy white, pink or purple outer sterile bracts.

I did buy a used E-PM1 together with the Olympus EVF some time ago (it should be around 2 years by now) and was never satisfied with the results – using the kit zoom it came with.
