How would Qrow with a beer belly work in your "hypothetical reboot"? Not that I would complain,

Aside from the fact that the show has girls doing crazy feats in heels, I’d think that it would work similar to Peter B’s pizza belly from Spider-Verse.

In the sense that it’s there when he’s not in active combat, but once he’s fighting, he gets a bit thinner. Maybe not with abs, but in a way that indicates that he’s now in action.

Let’s bring back the hypothetical reboot for a quick second here.

If there were one, I think something that would be interesting to see is pro-hunter propaganda. Things that try to sell the idea of being a hunter as some grand and heroic thing that one can do to help serve their kingdom (sound familiar?)

This way, the concept of the main characters claiming that “We didn’t sign up for this” feels less like some weird retcon, and more as something that they actually didn’t sign up for because they were not given the full information at the start.

They think that being a hunter is all about helping people, and defending the people from grimm… And then it slams you in the face that, no. Your job is to just be that meatshield between the relic and Salem, the immortal grimm queen.

Like… Yes, they did technically sign up to be a hunter, but they signed up thinking that it would be stopping criminals, killing grimm, and rescuing a cat from a tree and all that. But nope. You’re just that next body that Oz is throwing at his ex-wife because they couldn’t have a healthy conversation about not going full eugenicist.

Not only would it help flesh out the world, but it would also provide some really great worldbuilding. They could even only release trading cards of hunters when they die, because of royalties and all that. Imagine, if instead of that board game, the characters were trading cards, and what the heck, trying to get Blake in on collecting too. “Here’s a prismatic Summer Rose card. We have a lot at home, so we can get you started with this one.” And then someone asks if there’s an autographed one, and it’s revealed that, no, there isn’t because it was released after Summer’s death. It would be foreshadowing for how the whole hunter thing is a load of propaganda meant to lure in young minds wanting to make a difference in the world to fight for a cause that they wouldn’t want to be a part of in the first place.

And what the hell, let’s also add in the idea that you get a free education by signing up too, and that you get to provide your family with some benefits. Adds a bit more to the propaganda machine.

Admittedly, I’m not sure  if I suggested this, if someone else suggested this, or if this is new, but I think that this would be a really interesting way of fleshing out the world and making Oz much more morally ambiguous rather than him being an idiot who couldn’t hold a conversation with Salem.

Honestly, I am at the point where I want RWBY to just end and put me out of the misery and maybe some day in a decade or two it can get rebooted by some competent team and recapture the magic. That is probably a pipe dream will probably get a crappy next gen series that I will hate like Boruto.

In my experience, the only franchises that have pulled off the “Next Gen” concept well are Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Yu-Gi-Oh.

And I have my hypothetical reboot series that I kinda want to get going again. Talk about concepts that were kinda dropped in favor of some of the more bland parts of the series.

I’m thinking of bringing back the “hypothetical reboot” series, or, “hyporeboot” for the people who want to save space when submitting an ask for an idea.

Now that we have more information and more characters, I feel like we can try to flesh it out a bit more.

For example, we should take a look at the ace-ops, or as I’m calling them, the A-Cops. For starters, let’s de-diversify them. Let’s make them look like Atlasians, and make them white. Yeah, yeah, “Diversity is good!” I hear some of the more… rabid defenders scream, but I think it would make for a better analogy if they were also white. Make their uniforms more white too. We can still have Marrow, though I’d change what type of faunus he is, but that’s mostly because I don’t want to keep clarifying that when I refer to them as “attack dogs” I mean it metaphorically because Marrow is a dog faunus.

After that, make it more clear that they are super reliant on Clover’s semblance. Like… They effortlessly stop a small group of protestors while Clover is there, but when a small grimm squad shows up, they struggle. Not only would this show that they’re reliant on Clover’s semblance, but it would also show that they don’t fight grimm, they fight people.- unarmed people. They spar with the team, and the team wipes the floor with them… Or they would have if it weren’t for Clover’s semblance giving the a-cops all the advantages. But then Qrow shows up and the playing field is even again. As in- Clover’s Semblance is being canceled out by Qrow’s. And the a-cops get beaten pretty soundly.

They should also have a lot of in-fighting. To further emphasize that they aren’t a team, they’re co-workers. And show that they have an unhealthy amount of loyalty towards Ironwood. As an example, the team suggests they do something, but they dismiss it. But when Ironwood suggests the exact same thing, they’re all for it.

Show them being lazy, or having expensive items.

The ace ops aren’t an elite team, it’s a glorified club that gets to enforce the laws they want to enforce.

Namely, the ones that benefit them.

I just came up with another HypoReboot idea:

Semblances are like Crests from 3H or Quirks from MHA.

Certain Semblances make certain results with children. Like, let’s say, hypothetically, that Pyrrha and Nora have a kid (Let’s assume some magic or science bullshit, or that one of them is intersex or trans, who cares, this is a hypothetical scenario). Then as a combination of Pyrrha’s magnetism and Nora’s electricity absorption, their kid would have powers kinda like Static. Said kid can use electricity to move metal objects around and do all sorts of things like that.

Why would this be an improvement? Because then we could infer what kind of semblances the parents have by what semblance the kid has. And maybe having a semblance that isn’t tied to the parents is rare. We could have a eugenicist villain. Endeavor. I’m basically saying that we could have Endeavor in this series.

This could also add as to why Pyrrha would want to keep her semblance a secret. She doesn’t want people wanting to date her for her semblance. Because, really, her not wanting to reveal her secret because it gives her an advantage seems a little… weird to me. She hates the fame that her victories have gotten her, but she keeps the biggest reason that she has those wins a secret?- If she had revealed it, then everyone would be downplaying her wins, and she would be able to ditch those sponsorships.

Pumpkin Pete’s: The cereal that has the girl who secretly used her semblance to make her opponents miss their attacks on the box. They’d ditch her and distance themselves from her pretty fast if it turned out that she was giving herself an unfair advantage that her opponents and the ref didn’t know about.

But if it was because she didn‘t want people after her for her semblance, then that would change everything. Suddenly, she has an even bigger reason to hate her celebrity status. All the fame and press coverage?- How does she know who wants her for her, and not for her semblance? It would certainly make her thirsting after Jaune feel less forced. He doesn‘t know what her semblance is, and he hasn’t unlocked his by that point, so there’s no way that he could be scheming to make an Ultimate Baby by combining semblances.

And then you’d have all the parents who would be pushing for certain relationships to happen so that their bloodline could be associated with a powerful semblance or manipulating their kids because they’re the reason said kid has the semblance they do. It would certainly add to jacques’ scum factor since we all know that he’d jump at this. Hell! Jacques could be our Endeavor equivalent for this whole thing. Maybe his semblance is the reason the Schnees do have the ability to summon in the first place, or maybe it’s his semblance that lets them manipulate dust so effectively. It would add to his scum factor because then he could be all “How dare you! Don’t you realize that I’m the reason you even have those abilities in the first place?”

There are so many ways this could be worked. It would make it so that characters who keep their semblance a secret have a bigger reason outside of “I want to keep it as a surprise against an opponent.” Because once it’s used against a major opponent, then everyone knows what it is, and can then formulate a means to counter it.

Plus, this kinda plays with the whole “Heroes aren’t born, they’re raised” idea. The people who have a certain semblance are going to raise their kid a certain way, and possibly pass on their personality. This would make the idea that a semblance reflects the personality make sense. It’s nurture, not nature.

That last one is kinda just there to justify why Raven and Yang’s semblances would be vastly different, not gonna lie…

Hyporeboot: Explain how crime is dealt with in Remnant. Grimm are attracted to negative emotions so prisons would be major targets unless they were all practically resort spas. Then there's the matter of keeping criminals with semblances locked up. There has to be some sort of tech that exists which blocks aura usage otherwise prisons would be largely useless against those with the right ability

hyporeboot: Both Yang and Weiss go to look for Blake. When Adam sees Weiss, he gets pissed at Blake for being friends with a Schnee and stabs Blake, Weiss and Yang hear her scream. Adam’s about to kill Blake when Weiss protects her, and Adam is at a loss for why a Schnee would protect a Faunus. While Weiss does what she can to patch up Blake(Maybe ripping off one of her sleeves and wrapping it around Blake’s torso), Yang and Adam have an actual fight, and Yang loses her arm. They then retreat.

Seems interesting. Actual character development for Weiss, and we get an actual fight. and it would make sense story-wise.

Hyporeboot(Sorry if you're tired of these): Have Salem gain immortality from the Pool of Grimm like the Lazarus Pit. She'd be immortal, but she would also have to periodically bath in the pool to retain it which would explain why she doesn't leave the Grimmlands and why she needs followers. Which would also be an exploitable weakness. Also, instead of giving her a desire for destruction, the pool would simplify amplify her preexisting negative emotions.

The only issue I see with this is that it’s pretty clear after she first initially got the immortality is that she wanted to die. Maybe also add in that the slowness of deterioration is so painful that her instincts make her jump back in to make the physical pain go away. Or maybe the negativity forces her to bathe in it.

Also, I’m not tired of getting hyporeboot ideas. I’d like to hear more of what people would like to see.
