i have, admittedly, not known agent choi for very long. i have much to learn about this man. i'm not even fully caught up with gsgw yet because i'm slow. but trust that choi has inexplicably charmed me so much i think about him 24/7

okay, going forward: a collection of agent choi thoughts
i saw this mentioned on ao3 of all places, but it irrevocably changed the way i view choi (and jaekwan) so i Need to mention it. them both being representations of different sides of the bureau to me is sooo interesting. not to mention the way they contrast each other in the narrative
choi is reckless with himself and achieves what he wants to. he is blind hope despite understanding the way of the world so well. jaekwan, who has the same principles of a model citizen, but is more in line with what the bureau is now, which is ultimately an organization in a horror story where there are no good endings
choi is idealistic and jaekwan is realistic. and somehow jaekwan is still like the more naive of the two. jaechoi save me jaechoi
i mentioned this in another post, but choi is soo gender non-conforming to me
given the type of person choi is (honestly he's obnoxious), i don't actually think he would have a deep understanding of the lgbtq+ or its history. (though i do think he would be an ally, just in the way most?????? idk how old he is???? in the way most men older than jaekwan and soleum would be*). so i doubt choi would quite have the word for him being gnc, at least in the beginning, and i also don't really think he would care to label it all that much
but i can absolutely see him switching up on gender presentation as he pleases. while he might be caught off guard at first by someone calling him a pronoun other than "he", i don't think he would mind it or correct them.
choi in a skirt. better yet, choi in a skirt while also retaining being masculine. do you get me. that's the point of this. please put him in a long flowy skirt i am begging. he deserves it as a treat for his immense suffering!
i'm also a believer in mood-disorder-having choi (i don't think he was intentionally written with this in mind but it's my interpretation of him as someone with a mood disorder)
it's just something about his personality man. i have like a sixth sense for detecting them. or maybe all of my favs just automatically get placed on the mood disorder spectrum in my mind. probably that. i don't necessarily know how to fully explain why i read him in this context?? it just feels Right
smth smth about his cheerful nature yet many enigmatic sides, inability to fully be vulnerable, strong goals + sense of what he stands for despite his morally gray way of viewing the world, how he interacts with other people, etc etc... someone feels me on this
moot who encouraged my delusions mentioned headcanoning that choi has a cutesy voice around other people but speaks more normally (you know. for an adult man who's been through hell 50+ times over) around jaekwan and soleum
i love this. thank you for injecting this into my mind. it fits so well with choi's.......everything..... the way his upbeat demeanor is contrasted by the things he will do when needed. choi has a very firm stance on his beliefs i think but there is also so much contrast within him. it's not necessarily contradictory but i do think the possibility for that is extremely interesting
less serious headcanon: he likes fish!!!!! he likes to go fishing!!!! he enjoys marine biology!!!! it's the energy. he gives the energy of someone who can name 20+ fish species off the top of their head
