Aw, man, I'm sorry to hear this, friend. :( No one should feel this miserable about their work, even work just to get by. You're totally justified in wanting a better work environment, and I hope you find it real soon. <3 Why does work suck so bad?

It’s a good mixture of things. One, I have no idea what I’m doing and have been given veeeeery little direction. So it’s been me, mucking about, for four months, running around and asking questions and getting constantly rebuffed, so just making it up as I go along. Now, all of sudden, everybody’s in my face about little tiny mistakes that I didn’t even understand where mistakes. 

Two, our main controller just left, and apparently he was just phone-ing it for a few months there, which is why all of these mistakes, that he was apparently all “who gives a shit” about, are suddenly coming to light. Now we’re just in this limbo where basically there is no boss, and all the men in the office are fighting over who gets to tell the women what to do. 

Three, almost everyone in my office is an asshole, and not in a good way. I’m an asshole, everyone I know is an asshole, but we’re still good people. If I go up to half the people in this office, and politely ask them a question, about anything, I get treated like scum.  There’s one woman here who has raised her voice to me, multiple times.  

And before I come off as a big pussy, I worked in auto lending, and I have area managers call me a bitch and cunt right to my face because I wouldn't lower the rate for them, but I have never had people genuinely get upset at me because I asked a question about how to do my damn job!!!
