For me ADHD is going to take a shower that I've been procrastinating on by crocheting a weird-ass glove because I realised I've fucked up three whole lines that took me half an hour to make and will take much longer to fix and I now fully intend to procrastinate on that by taking a shower.

Sergei spares him a sideways glance, expression as readable as the beige plastic encasing his hand.

"Did you -- okay, okay--" Bryan lifts his appeasing palms as Dragunov's face falls into a caustic scowl. Though his plans for the evening don't hinge on Sergei being present, it would be nice. He doesn't get nice things often. The Russian in a suit is a good start, but even that is on the verge of crumbling.

With his fingers surrounded in an ootheca of gauze, Dragunov's every attempt to fix his tie is a complete failure. Frustration mounting, he's two seconds from calling it quits. He isn't following orders and there's plenty of booze in his hotel room.

Fury huffs a laugh. "At ease, soldier," he says, batting Sergei's good hand away.

Ignoring the knee-jerk urge to stomp on the cyborg's foot in retaliation -- broken metatarsals are the last thing he needs right now -- Dragunov watches as Bryan...in all honesty, does a decent job. The tie's knot isn't too tight or too high. He has no means to measure it, but he doesn't doubt it's within millimeters of how he configures it himself. His frown softens as his jacket is buttoned up, a thought occurring to him that he will need to be social for in order to distract himself.

He is part of Fury's life. And Fury is part of his.

"There you go," Bryan says, "I'll let you pick out your lipstick. Got some of my own prep work to do. See you downstairs?"

Dragunov nods once.

"Cool. Oh, by the way. Might wanna stick to cover."

Can I confess something?? I feel like at this point, the YOI fandom already chock full of headcannons and localization, also there are some writers whose stories i already followed, i feel like their writing became more... mechanical? Cynical? It's.. like just a checklist of plots and pandering stuff (thank god it's over). There are a lot of new stuff that only use character tropes and tottaly overplays it to the point they ignored the characterization in the show. Sorry, i'm ranting so much,

I feel like I deserve this ask because I complain about characterization all the time, and that is fair. But anon, I'm going to tell you something you aren't going to enjoy, and that is this:

if you don't like how people write your favorite characters, write them yourself.

Now I agree it is much nicer to just read, to pick and chose out of an unending smorgasbord of content. But if you don't like the menu, it's a hell of a lot more useful to get into the kitchen and start cooking. Fandom isnt a restaurant, it's a potluck.
