Do people actually truly remember sensations? Is that a thing I just don't experience? Like can people remember that something feels “soft” and that word has a true, defined meaning and isn't just a vague descriptor? I don't like bread cause it feels like wet sand in my mouth but I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT WET SAND IN MY MOUTH FEELS LIKE??? I JUST KNOW I DON'T LIKE IT.
NAPOWRIMO25 #10: Missed Connection [Mosaic4M]
sorry to anyone who really loves spin of fate by aa vora but i've been struggling to get through the audiobook for an age and trying to figure out why it's such slow reading for me despite being really not that long. and at this point i think i have to get all the way through it just to do an in depth critique so my brain can rest
potential sonic 3 spoilers incoming if anyone cares. anyway . apparently there was an official survey about the knuckles show/scu in general and one of the questions was about what name you would use for an eggman/shadow/gerald teamup. which is a weirdly specific question. and also one of the name options was team dark …….. ?? even though rouge isnt mentioned in the question and theres no sign of her being in the next movie in general ? i was willing to accept amy being introduced a little after knuckles and tails but between there still being no sign of her being in the next movie and now this if they actually have gerald time travel or something and have him be the third member of the dark story trio instead of rouge then i will be fully convinced that theyre going out of their way to exclude as many already existing girl characters as possible. like i get cgi is expensive which could be part of the reason rouge might not have made the cut. but damn . assuming this is real anyway it could just be another fake leak but idk
the funny thing is about that sesame street clip is I remember growing up, how '90-'00s children's shows were commonly brushed as off as being too raucous, hyper, and loud by adults around me.
and there were definitely plenty of all-action shows, but there are many others where, after watching them back now I'm older, I'm struck by how slow-paced and quiet they actually were. there's a lot of scenes with no incidental music, the voice deliveries are very quiet and almost candid, and the sound design in general is subtle. even shows that are Known for their erratic tone (e.g. IZ) knew when to pull back and let a moment be, which makes the louder moments land all the better.
and maybe this is just me being old now lmaooo but I do occasionally catch little kid stuff and go, ok now this actually is just noise. this is good for no one. breathe a little.
The Score - Legend
ever since those posts about people with aphantasia started going around, and I started talking with my husband about the fact that some other people apparently vividly picture the scenes they're reading in their heads while they're reading (which is ???? to me), it's been kind of fascinating for me to reread my own writing
like. it is so abundantly clear to me, reading my own writing, that I am a writer with a degree of aphantasia, because I just do not write visual descriptors 99% of the time unless they are about:
a. how various bodies in the scene are moving through space (which is necessary to write character beats)
or
b. eyes
and I wonder if that negatively impacts my writing for people who do read in that way?
