"I ship Caleo!" —said no one ever— "I ship valgrace!" VALME. I ship myself with Leo.
Leo is too good for Calypso. I'm not saying this from a fangirl perspective. How did Rick expect us to be cool with getting Leo and Calypso together the same book Calypso cursed Annabeth?
Valgrace is literally the better option. And Calypso clearly didn't even appreciate Leo when they did get together. In the 2nd TOA book, Calypso literally stabbed her thumbs into his kidneys? And she clearly doesn't understand how his mind works.
And the fact that Leo vented to APOLLO the god known for a HORRIBLE love life saying that he feels that maybe their relationship was doomed from the start and how he thinks it might be better when they're able to live a normal life, but he's not sure.
Calypso is constantly shown being barely anything but rude to Leo. I believe Calypso didn't love Leo, she loved the idea of Leo getting her off the island.
And don't even get me STARTED on the age gap. Calypso is 3000+, and Leo is SIXTEEN. Calypso may not have aged physically, but she's DEFINITELY aged mentally. I feel like it's not crazy to say Calypso is gr0oming Leo.
Leo and Jason DEFINITELY had feelings for eachother, whether romantic or not. When Lester told Jason Leo was alive, the sparks flew out of OUTLITS. Valgrace had the perfect set up to be endgame.
In HoH, when Nico gets outted by Cupid, it could've been the perfect opportunity for Jason to realize that his feelings for Leo might not just be platonic. He could've confided in Nico about it.
I still feel Leo could've gotten Calypso off the island, WITHOUT them getting in a relationship.
Jason could've realized his feelings for Leo, but never got the chance to tell him. And Leo, only realizing that Jason was more than just a friend to him until after Jason is already gone. It would've made Jason's death more impactful.
Valgrace is way better than Caleo and it's not even close.
Thank you, again, for coming to my ted talk.
why does Leo have more chemistry with literally everyone but Calypso 😭😭😭
I feel like after his relationship with Calypso, Leo's self-esteem has dropped, so when he gets together with Jason he sometimes asks those questions like 'im not annoying you right ' or 'this isnt out of pity right, you really love me?' Bc calypso only got with him bc of the curse (also headacanon she wasn't all that nice to him)
Another pjo rant because people liked my last one :>
I *hate* Caleo. It is absolutely one of the worst ships in the whole series, especially to be a canon one. It really rubs me the wrong way, so does Calypso in general in the series, honestly.
I'm gonna start by talking about Calypso in general, because I really hate her the most. I haven't liked her since the beginning, in Battle of the Labyrinth Percy was only fourteen (or fifteen?? But I think he turned fifteen at the end, so prob fourteen) and she was in love with him then, and that grossed me out so bad.
The whole part of BotL on Ogygia was honestly just really uncomfortable to me, because she was clearly very into Percy, who again, was fourteen.
And that gets me started on Caleo. I'm not sure exactly of Leo's age as of House of Hades, but I'm pretty sure he's about fourteen or fifteen?? (Pls correct me if I'm wrong tho) Even if he's a little older, he's still a minor, so it's all just still really, really gross. I normally like a lot of what Rick does with his works, but this was honestly just a bad choice.
And on top of being a gross ship, it also just feels bad for Leo's character in general. I feel his storyline should've been more about selflove and self acceptance. I think it should've been about Leo finding his place in the group, learning to overcome his feelings as the seventh wheel and fitting into the group without a relationship.
I really don't think he needed a girlfriend, especially not so soon when it feels like he barely accepts himself. It all honesty it just feels like a push to have all the characters in a relationship when it's completely unneeded
I'm not even mad that Leo got a gf (I mean I am, but that's not my main reason for being mad) I'm mad because they have NO chemistry.
In House of Hades he's on the island of Ogygia for like over a week, and Calypso us HORRIBLE to him. She insults him constantly for like 75% of the time he's on the island.
And then at the end Leo's like "oh, well she didn't let Gaia kill me so she could get off the island, so she's actually really cool"
And then he "falls in love" with her, which mind you, he "falls in love" with like every female in the whole series.
And even after he saves Calypso, she's STILL mean to him in ToA.
