tomorrow is pride month, so here is a reminder that if you buy official hp merch, bought hogwarts legacy, and plan to watch the new series, you’re actively contributing to this bigotry! as someone who has a strong connection to the LGBTQ+ community and someone who has held the struggle of my own gender very dear to me, your silence on this matter is siding with her. your silence is violence and i will never stay silent about such issues. this is more than just a crappy famous person, but a crappy famous person who drives home a narrative that not only harms trans women, but cis women too. demeaning women as a whole to nothing more than genitalia or anatomy is objectifying, cruel, and a very narrow minded view on gender. gender is a societal construct, and people do not understand the difference between sex and gender.

as long as you’re not actively giving money to jk rowling, i actually Do Not Care if someone is still in the harry potter fandom. as my intro said, i’m anti-censorship, and fully believe that people should be allowed to enjoy whatever fiction they like, and, subsequently, that every piece of fiction should be allowed to exist — regardless of if the person who made it is a problematic piece of shit or not.

reminder that fanworks do not give jkr profit. enjoying the fandom does not give her profit. pirating the movies and buying the books second-hand does not give her profit.

I hate JK Rowling but I will admit to enjoying Harry Potter; HOWEVER I hate JK Rowling just enough to not stream the movies or buy the books again.

There are always alternatives to supporting people like that… obviously people know of websites where you can watch movies for free (without supporting companies/contributors) HOWEVER, did you know that most popular books actually have free PDFs online that you can access completely for free?? Without having to pay for anything (besides the internet bill i suppose)

I usually just look up “[book title] pdf” and depending on how popular the book is, you’ll either get a bunch of resources/pdfs from colleges or like one or two slightly sketchy links (that still work fine lol). This usually works best with books that are taught in schools, however I’m sure there are quite a few random books out there.

on the topic of HP- I honestly don’t really feel like getting into Marauders so I’ll just stick to the fics… i guess. idk remus lupin is kinda hot
