Really adore my hc where Stevo really tried to be bisexual because he wanted to piss people off but he sadly wasn’t into it at ALL
But his testing victim (Bob) super was
Anti-ship art? Idk they still kissed so it’s whatever
God I love drawing girls here is Lindsay do you care
My girlfriend said I should draw something in honor of TGWDLM getting a reprise so here I hope you really like it I don’t
Literally nobody goes here but I love rewatching Total Drama because wdym Bridgett called Trent a metrosexual😭??
I LWK think Ryland Grace and Ryland Grace(Gosling) are two very different people and I’ve only met like four people who agree with me on that so I’m gonna shut up
i hate project hail mary (person watching project hail mary for the idk what number time)
I don’t think people acknowledge that Grace was a coward enough despite Grace HIMSELF being distraught over it and it being stated over and over again within the movie and book. I think having a character with conflicting beliefs is really cool though because it’s realistic. Grace cares about the world and the future SO MUCH, but is (understandably) reluctant to give up his life for it; he says he likes to piss people off and actively holds unpopular opinions but he withdraws from the community the moment that his opinion isn’t taken well.
I think one main reason for this is that the movie removes some of this. Grace doesn’t have a breakdown about being a coward, it might be PART of the reason he’s upset, but he’s mostly bothered about knowing the extent of his situation. His reason for leaving the science field also changes, and tbh I believe book Grace would NOTT yell at a major scientist unprovoked (I think the Lokken situation is different). I’M NOT BASHING THE MOVIE I WAS A MOVIE WATCHER FIRST AND I ADORE THST FILM SO MUCH!! But I think people see Grace as somebody who was ALWAYS 100% reliable and brave when that was definitely character development. Being in his position and experiencing what he had CHANGED him.
This point might sound weird but I really enjoy the canon reason for why Grace has no pets or partner. I love aroace Grace, but I ALSO think the fact that he was SO scared of heartbreak and mourning to the point that he avoided it at all costs adds so much. Sure, that part doesn’t make him a *hypocrite,* but it makes him a coward. He’s way more worried than the average person. He was horribly scared of discomfort and would retreat to safety at all costs. At least he used to.
I don’t actually have a compelling point with this post but I think people should talk about his early hypocrisy more bc I think it makes him feel so much more real and I think it is a HUGE part of his character!! I’m not calling him a bad person, he’s an AMAZING guy, but just like any character he’s flawed and I think that makes him super interesting but people treat him like he isn’t.
Adding onto this slightly just so people don’t mistake what I’m saying: I absolutely think Grace was frustrating to some during his time on Earth. I don’t mean to baby him at all and you know damn well most people would roll their eyes if they had to deal with somebody close to them being like this IRL. He is flawed and I love that SO much

The thing I wonder about is, was he scared of personally dying, or of personally dying while fucking up humanity's one chance? Because I think his movie characterization is of someone who just does not think of himself as being good at things. This doesn't make him a poor little mew mew, but someone who exasperates others and trips himself all the time.
Honestly I’d have to rewatch/reread, but off the top of my head I think it was a mix of both. Immediate panic about the whole dying thing (he didn’t seem fond of it even when it wasn’t happening to him), and then the pressure settling in. Either way I fully agree with you.

I violently do not like drawing
No posts because Ive been drawing ocs lately
i love the way dimitri talks, like "yesyes, baby astrophage eat so well, too full for more" like he's cooing the fucking alian algae
the portray of russians in this book is hilarious
I see a lot of discussion between the project, Hail Mary book and movie, but I think the most egregious thing that was left out of the movie so far was no Dimitri. He was so warm and bubbly.
I mourn him every day GRACE LOVED THAT GUY SM AND SO DID I BRO
Maybe I’m not good at fully rendered pieces or bodies but DAMN IT I can kinda draw a person laying down !!!!
I don’t like him
I don’t like how this turned out but im proud of his face sooo
You ever have a really cool design for a designless character but the fandom already has a pretty much canon design for them so u end up submitting. Because u gotta listen to daddy or something idk.
