Characters included (in order): Don Lorenzo and Yo Hiori. ᴀ/ɴ: You're such a sweetheart!! I loved these. Alternated some of these for a better read and to feel like an actual scenario (hence the title) and worry not! I'll make a separate one for the creepypasta one
Money this, money that. There was no denying it drove people to an unstable level so much so it can be commonly seen and normalized in the world we live in today maybe it's why the streets stayed with you somehow, not as miserable, you had something independent going now and you learned not only to be resourceful but also smart with your income. It was a another normal day in the business, Noticeably every customer that walked in had very distinguished lifes, some in a rush, some hanging out in a group of friends, the ones carrying one with their studies and all of them got here for one reason: Your pastries! What else? Of course being resourceful meant being diverse so you had options for those with a salty preference and such that being said you were making good money. If there was something being homeless taught you is how experience and being perceived is important that being said many familiar and famous faces (not counting the self entitled influencers) walked in treating them customarily; however, Never in four years of expanding your business and starting from nothing did you ever think the past would come back all at once with no warning. Sundays were always unpredictable. Throughout the day, the mornings were packed with tourists getting brunch to, have plenty before parting off to their exploring and evenings where kids around the age of eight, eager for a loaf of bread with the money of their grandparents, oblivious as to how much it could affect someones life. The evening was standard, Time was running rather swiftly in doing so you couldn't wait for closing time. The ring on the glass doorway rang, you looked out of force of habit. Yeah, no. The end of the week was getting to you. It was hard not to knowledge Lorenzo, equally matching purple hair and eyes and those undeniable gold teeth, life at times seemed to leave such little yet impactful reminders of your past as a way that it will always be apart of you or how what goes around comes around. And now it was here, ''Uh, Hi. What can I get you?'' His stare wasn't subtle at all; Things changed, neither you or Lorenzo stayed the same, is this his way of recalling the years you spend together? Cursing the world you were brought into to; overthinking, really perhaps expecting a: ''Are you Lorenzo? The one who plays for Ubers?'' He was very much mistaken about that last thought, [name?] The golden decorated smile grew wider as a confirmation, he was infact wrong about his assumption and you too, couldn't help but smile, ''Heh! You've build an empire, this place is worth lots, yeah?'' His hand gestured towards your humble place, ''Frankly, I could say the same about you,'' The customer/service provider wall is no longer there; The back and forth chat shared was so casual, one could never break the bond once formed in precarious times, By the time conversation flowed slower, it was time to close, ''Take care, okayy?'' He'd said before leaving (he has very much a sweet tooth by the amount of caramel glazed pastries he left with).
It's right to assume the average person that plays fortnite or anything similar is a pre teen with no parental monitorization or a discord mod. For you, playing in peace was tricky it was either because of the noise (which in your defense it's not your fault the keyboards loud.) or your neighbors who somehow always had a reason to complain. Nevertheless, amongst your other games it was fun hence why every other night you submersed yourself into the same routine: trying out different games only to end up playing fortnite in the end for good reason tho besides it causing you to burn more sunlight than you'd like. During these same hectic game plays, you've come across it all— ragebait from 12 year olds throwing slurs and rage quits that made your ears ring. Usually the usernames didn't have a spectrum, it was either the most diabolical thing ever or something as simple as a nickname and the one you've come across more times than you'd like: ''Ultrasadist23'' To your annoyance not only did this person managed to win but also target you every time, as one does instead of focusing on achieving the #1 victory royale, your whole attention targeted solely on this individual. It was a back and forth; Truth be told, it was fun a fun change from the usual fight to the top type of trope but a rather thrilling competition, This way was easy to form friendships, the ones that people joke about lasting longer than certain relationships even if it was solely playing games, this wasn't the case, oh no! It was more than that, sure it made you giggle a little when the topic of your conversations was flirting and making insane bets to see who wins first. Now, E-dating is never taking seriously, dare I say so, even real life relationships thus why the justification to rejecting someone after sharing tender moments was ''breaking it up before it gets serious.'' You weren't totally against it; however the thought of having to answer the infamous: ''How did you two meet?'' Would be on fortnite was a little....funny, no? Most of your socials were exchanged by now, coming back from a long day a 'ping' from your phone was enough to get you engaged and honestly, you guys had a great time getting to know each other, it was everything you hoped for nothing shitty like: a) Getting ghosted after a day (a week if you were lucky) b) Not engaging in conversation whatsoever c) Hate speech/making jokes of such None of that! That being said, he also had his...moments, it's all about the way conversation unfolded. Oddly enough, Yo mentioned details you've never quoted before when questioned, he reassured you. This was no longer friendship; Funnily enough, not a word about it was uttered, The routine was no longer, turning on your laptop whenever you wanted just the opposite, having a few more tabs open to stay on call with Hiori or no longer having the mind to look at the time, mindlessly passing the night with him. Much like an unspoken rule, it was never discussed; you both could go on about meeting up one day, schmoozing on call giving out information far too personal or joke about the unspoken rule itself yet the tone too playful too confirm your confusion or maybe even his, You'll never know. @mychaelsoj
