Had a successful outing with Little Nephew to the Botany shops today - we needed to buy presents and cards for three upcoming birthday parties among his little friends, so we went to Toyworld and got an exploding volcano set and a fairy microgreens garden set and a wee Lego Han Solo and mini Millennium Falcon, and he bought a small Minecraft Lego set with his own saved pocket money, with the exception of the $5 note that he doesn't like to spend because it's the first money he ever got and I gave it to him when he got his first wallet before starting school. Then we went and had lunch at McDonald's, then he had a go on the playground while I guarded our bags, then we came home before anyone got tired or grumpy. I was a Good Aunt.

I also had to explain to him that yes, some people have only one leg, and I understand he'd never seen that before so he was surprised, but we should never point at them and say "WHAT'S THAT" because it makes them feel very uncomfortable. Man with one leg entering the mall in his wheelchair, I'm sorry he was so loud and I hope you were not too bothered.
